Fenced yard, happy home!

Pet care experience

My name is Julia, I live in Mount Washington and I have been in the animal care profession for several years now. I worked for 3 years at the New England Aquarium caring for stingrays, sharks, jellies and shorebirds, and have owned dogs and dog-sat for over 15 years now. I currently work on the JHU Homewood campus managing a zebrafish facility. I speak the language of animals!! My pup Lyra adores all other dogs, and loves having friends over for sleepovers. She is extremely friendly and has never met a dog she hasn’t gotten along with. We are very active and love to run around outside, so even the most energetic dogs are more than welcome. I have a large fenced backyard for safe and fun outdoor playtime! I am experienced in caring for senior and special-needs dogs as well, and can administer medications as needed. In fact, senior dogs are the primary group I’ve cared for. But all of my canine clientele, young and old, are all GOOD dogs! I can't wait to meet your pup. Thank you for your time, and say hi to your dog for me! Covid-19 update: I take this pandemic very seriously and will mask up during indoor portions of Meet&Greets as well as pickups and dropoffs. My husband Tyler works at a retirement home, so we have both been very careful in these trying times. Getting care for your fur baby shouldn’t mean exposing your family to unnecessary risk. If you have any concerns or questions at all related to COVID, please let me know. Thank you and stay safe! Please note: I only accept bookings 3-4 months from the current date. Past that it gets too difficult to discern my availability. Thank you for understanding!!

Ty loves going to Julia's and playing with Lyra! In fact, I don't think Ty misses us at all!

Julia and Tyler have a very nice situation at their home with a lovely fenced in yard. Both of them were very nice and helpful. Julia was patient to listen to all the instructions and kept me posted. She accommodated our schedule and addressed the special needs our dog Daisy who liked playing with her dog Lyra. I would definitely recommend Julia and Tyler for boarding your dog.

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is my top priority when caring for dogs. This is why I ask a lot of questions when a new client reaches out! Honesty about finding a proper fit between a caretaker and a dog is key. During the Meet&Greet, I will ask a ton of questions about your dog's behavioral triggers, fears, sensitivities, medical needs, allergies, etc. And if it's a boarding booking, I want to ensure that your dog and my pup Lyra get along swimmingly before we move forward.

Information Julia B. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any triggers, fears, allergies, medical needs or leash reactivity. The more I know about what makes your dog tick, the better I will be prepared to create a safe, calming environment for them while their parent is away.

A typical day

I'm super active, so your dog and I will explore the neighborhood together! If your dog is a runner, we'll go for an adventure jog! I also give A+ belly rubs. Lyra loves to play and has no problem with sharing her giant collection of toys. A tired dog is a happy dog, and we aim to make your dog the happiest!
