My pets are my world, as are yours

Pet care experience

I have had pets all my life and currently serve as a board member to local animal rescue, Plenty of Pit Bulls. I have 5+ years experience working with shelter and rescue animals, as well as bringing foster dogs into my home! I believe that all animals are individuals each with their own specific needs and comforts. If your dog is used to a certain routine, I am happy to accommodate that for him/her. While in my care, your pet's safety and comfort will be my top priorities. I will never force an animal into a situation that they are uncomfortable with. My four rescue animals are my world and I promise to treat your pets the way I'd want mine to be treated. ** I am only available on weeknights from 5pm-10pm, but my schedule is more flexible on the weekends. I look forward to helping with your evening and weekend pet needs :)

I have known Jude for 5 years and I can attest to his compassion and love for all animals. Jude is very trustworthy, reliable, and friendly. He is a huge animal lover and this explains why his three rescue dogs and rescue cat absolutely adore him! Additionally, he is board member of a local Gainesville, FL dog rescue and is actively involved in improving the well-being of animals in our community. All of his experience with animal rescue, and his personal animals, have honed his ability to interact positively with dogs and cats of all sizes, personalities, and needs. He is a wonderful addition to the Rover community!

Information Jude M. would like to know about your pet

I believe all animals are individuals with their own specifics needs and quirks. Let me know your pet's special needs or preferences and I'll be happy to accommodate. I have no breed preferences or discriminations and am happy to meet all kinds of dogs. When meeting you and your dog I will ask the following: 1. Age and current activity level? 2. Currently on any medications? 3. Any known allergies? 4. Does your dog get along with other animals/people? This info is important if we meet potential friends on our outings. If your dog does not do well with others, we will avoid those stressful encounters. 5. Has your dog had any surgeries or other medical issues that may limit the level of exercise we can do for that day? 6. Does your dog know any tricks or have any special treat preferences?

A typical day

Drop-In Visits: - Upon arriving at your home I will take your pet out for a potty break. If you have a fenced in yard, and the weather is nice, we will spend a few minutes playing fetch, tug-of-war, or any other activity to burn off that excess energy. - If your pet is allowed to have treats, we will then go inside and work on some mental stimulation. This can include working on basic commands and/or learning new tricks. I also have multiple brain puzzles that I will bring for your dog. I strongly believe that mental stimulation is as important as physical exercise. - After we have spent a majority of our time enjoying the above activities, we will spend the remainder of our time calming down with affection and bonding. I will make sure that water bowls are filled, dinner is served (if needed) and safely eaten under supervision. Rest assure your house will be left in the same state as when I arrived, and a happy family member will be waiting for you to come home :) 30 Minute Walks: - Upon arriving, I will greet your dog and offer them some water (if they have been crated) before we begin our walk. - We will spend 30 minutes outside together exploring new smells and stretching our legs. - If there is a special path or close park nearby, please let us know. Otherwise, I will set a timer for 15 minutes as we venture out and explore the outdoors. After the timer goes off, we will return the same route taken which should complete our 30 minute round trip. - If your dog is allowed to have treats, I will bring them on our walks to reward good behavior and help aid in distraction for any encounters we need to avoid. - Before leaving your dog for the day, I will ensure that they have had access to clean drinking water. If your dog remains crated and will not willingly drink any water, I will try my best to entice them by bringing a small bowl to their crate and making the water very "exciting". I have found that this method usually works well, but I will never force a dog to do something they don't want to. - Rest assure your house will be left in the same state as when I arrived, and a happy family member will be waiting for you to come home :)
