Pet care experience

(PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PET EXPERIENCE FOR IMPORTNAT DETAILS) Hello, my name is Juan. Growing up I was around different breeds of dogs all at the same time and always enjoyed playing and working with dogs. Some things to know about how I take care of dogs is how much time and availability I have to play and stay with the pups the entire day. Most importantly I love and nurture your pups while their with me and I am willing to accommodate any dog, Incase the dog has some sort of disability, separation anxiety, etc. I can handle it! I look forward to walking and housing your dog(s) and I can not wait to meet them! In addition to boarding I also offer hiking services for your pup. Through my business, PNW Tripdogs, I offer a variety of different options for taking your pup out in a group with other pups of similar size, providing meals, snacks, water, and photos of the beautiful hiking location we visit that day. We offer pick up and drop off service and it is guaranteed fun. Feel free to contact me for more info! Important information: 1. When you are boarding your pup with me please bring the appropriate amount of food that your dog requires for their stay. It is okay for them to bring more than is expected for them to eat. But if you do not want them to be overfed please bring the appropriate amount and/or inform me how much food they should have per day. - When your pup is with me they will be playing hard and long with other pups, on hikes/walks/runs throughout the neighborhood multiple times per day. If your pup normally leads a sedentary lifestyle they may be more hungry while they are with me and therefore may be asking for more food than what you would normally offer them. Please let me know if it is OK for your dog to have more food if they are asking for more. 2. Please label your food with your pup's name and please do not bring it in a plastic or paper bag. It is much better to have a case or a container of dog food. If you only have a ziplock bag just be sure to label it with their name. - Please also label ALL your pets items if possible, including their leash. This helps ensure your pets items don't get mixed up with any of our personal belongings or other pups who may be around during the time of your pups stay! 3. In today's modern world we can text we can call we can video chat we can do it all. So when you pick up your dog or drop off your dog PLEASE DO NOT ring the doorbell! I board a few dogs at a time. Of all shapes and sizes, and it is a universal principle that doorbells are not dogs best friends LOL. So please do me the favor and text me or call me when approaching the destination! 4. If your dog has anxiety, if your dog has never been to a dog park or has never been introduced to a multitude of dogs at once. Please inform me with that information first, it helps me understand what I need to do to better prepare. I'm pretty comfortable with dogs who have never had that type of interaction and they adjust very well and very quickly with me. It's very healthy for dogs to be in contact with other dogs, after all they are pack animals and it is in their nature to do so otherwise dog parks would not exist. (PLEASE READ EVERYTHING) I am free anytime. This isnt just a side hustle for me. I truly take pride in taking care of dogs. I do have a job but I don't have to leave the house so that's really awesome. A little bit of information for those of you who are new dog owners. Here are some side tips for you to have a happy, social, well behaved, anti-anxiety dog: 1. Walk them. It is extremely important for a pup in their first three months of upbringing to walk. Even if it's 5 minutes a day. It allows them to not pull on their leash And when they see other dogs and other humans on the sidewalk or wherever they're walking, they learn how to behave themselves and not be aggressive towards people or other dogs. A harness would be a good asset to have and if they are a little bit more High energetic the collars with prongs are very very useful! But again this can only work if you start straight from the beginning with your pups. I cannot stress enough how important the first 3 months are for a puppy. 2. Take them to the dog park! It doesn't matter if you have a shitzu or if you have a Mastiff. It doesn't even matter if it's a pitbull! Just because your dog looks intimidating doesn't mean that your dog is a bad dog or an aggressive one either. He/she needs to be socialized from the beginning, otherwise they feed off of the owners energy and if it is your first puppy ever and you've never experienced owning a dog before, it's safe to assume that your pup can pick up some bad habits from their owners (hand signals/treating/petting/baybing bad behavior) unintentionally. Therefore, take your dogs to the dog park, walks, dog beach, dog bar, wherever they can see and be around others. They will be around other dogs and they will be around other owners, at least that way they can experience how to behave themselves and grow out of there anxiety at the same time right from the get-go. And when your dog grows up, they will have confidence within themselves and be brave and courageous canines with no anxiety at all. Also, when at the dog park do not go into the dog park with a leash on your dog. Have them Unleashed and do not pick up your dog inside a dog park that is one way to get your hand bitten. 3. Spend time with your dog! If you live in an apartment and you have a German Shepherd and you spend eight hours a day at work, your German Shepherd will need your individual attention as soon as you step into the door. It doesn't matter what kind of dog you have, you need to spend time with your dog. Same goes for any other breed of dog especially if they are bigger dogs with high energy. 4. Never hit your dog. Never yell at your dog. Instead make eye contact with your dog get down on one knee and speak to him not as a baby when they do something wrong but as a co-worker that has done something wrong at work lol. (PLEASE READ EVERYTHING)Knowing that there is a chain of command in the doggy dog world, dogs need to have a leader to look up to. I provide that role for them and I also provide training and playful events with them. I cannot stress this enough, dogs are pack oriented. They do much better when they are with a partner. So, if you have concerns of your dog going to the dog park, if you have concerns of your dog being attacked by another dog, understand, that those circumstances and outcomes will only happen if you allow them to happen. As their owner, it is highly important to socialize your dog as much as possible. The more time you give your dog walks, go to dog parks, one-on-one time, even training them to be in a cage, it helps your dog become more sociable and more interactable with humans and other animals. But once again this can only happen, if you spend time with your dog.

Information Juan D. would like to know about your pet

Is the dog potty trained? Does it play well with others? From a scale of one to ten, how active is your dog? Does your dog know any commands? Does your pup sleep well at night and where do they like to sleep? Is there anything interesting that you can tell me about your dog that will allow me to understand them better? If they are a rescue, please inform me of their past experience and what they're levels of aggression are with people and other dogs. I ALSO TRAIN DOGS!

A typical day

I love to go out on runs so if you have a dog who is very energetic you don't have to worry about a thing he'll be tired every single day and I'm going on my 3-5 Mile jogs. And if it's a little dude you also don't have to worry about it one mile would be enough LOL. And if they are the complete opposite of an active dog I have a really comfy couch that they can always rest on!
