Home Full Time in a Pup Paradise!

Pet care experience

I’m Juan and I love dogs! When I was growing up, there was always a furry friend around and I am lucky enough to have experienced many different pups since birth. I love that dogs are creatures you can build long-term friendships with because they are so loyal, friendly, and sweet. I had some of the best companions growing up and one of my dogs, Pepper, a Border Collie, was the smartest dog I’ve ever met! I learned so much through her care and training and have taken that love and experience into the care of the pups in California. Though I haven’t worked with dogs in a professional capacity, I have been the go-to sitter for friends, family, and neighbors for many years, as well as a personal pet owner. As mentioned, I also grew up with many dogs around the house and currently have two pups of my own that are back home in Missouri as I get settled in California. I love spending time with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities and can’t wait to get to know your pup too. I have experience administering oral and injected medication and feel comfortable around puppies, senior dogs, and everyone in between. Though I’m not hugely experienced with other animals, I’m well versed in animal care so I’d be happy to spend time with any of your pets on Rover. As a pet owner, I know how important communication is when caring for someone else's loved one. I’ll be sure to send you lots of text, photo, and video updates of what your pup is up to. From snoozy snapshots to playtime photos, you’ll love being updated on what your dog is up to. When I’m not pet sitting, I like to get outdoors, host BBQ’s, play guitar, and spend time with friends. Dogs are always welcome to join me in any of these activities. I’m also a student of all animals. At one point, I wanted to be a zoologist so I love learning about other creatures in the animal kingdom. Your pup will also love how much I love to stay active because that means hikes to Fremont Open Space Preserve, Cuesta Park, and other great spaces in the area. I live in a beautiful and large home in Los Altos Hills. I have a fenced-in yard that’s perfect for furry friends. There’s room to sunbathe, play, and run both in and outside my house, especially because there are so many great spots to get cozy. Your dog is welcome to walk around, interact with people, and go on potty breaks several times per day since I’m home full-time. You’ll also love that my neighborhood is quiet and calm, with dog-friendly people and a relaxing atmosphere. There are nearby parks, trails, and green spots that I love to frequent.

Absolutely wonderful! Very responsive and easy going, respectful of rules, definitely knows his way around dogs. Fabulous house/location, great back yard. I had Juan babysit my beagle for a day and after Ranger got over being away from me, he seemed to settle in very well with him. I’ll definitely be using Juan again. Thanks for everything!

My husband and I have two small poodles we didn't have enough time to train them. Juan was great helping us to train our dogs, they love him. Now they understan at least 15 commands. Juan is a nice person, very polite and responsible.

Information Juan C. would like to know about your pet

Before a stay, I’d be happy to set up a meet and greet. Meeting in person, in a neutral area, is a great way for us to be comfortable with one another. Are they able to handle leashes/harnesses? How does your pup act around people and other animals? I also like to know about any special needs (personality, health, care, and feeding) your dog has as well as behavioral tendencies, bathroom habits, and medical issues your pup could have.

A typical day

Our mornings always start with breakfast and a walk around the neighborhood. Because I work primarily on the phone, I can be pretty active during the day and often take walks around the neighborhood while I work. Your pup will be welcome to join me. After the work day, we’ll hit the dog park or check out a local trail. I love playing frisbee and catch with pups, so your dog will love to join me outside! In the evening, I typically hit the gym but I’d love to run with your dog! Hiking dogs are also in luck with me. I would take them to Fremont Open Space Preserve which has many dog friendly hiking trails. I do this once a week without a dog and it’d be great to have a furry companion. I also love Cuesta Park, which is only five minutes from my home. When we’re not staying active, we’ll snuggle up for TV time. Whatever your dog needs to be happy, I’ll provide!
