When I was about 15 we got a Shihtzu as a family dog and he blessed us with 13 years of life. Then my sister got a dog, I got a dog, and my brother got a dog so we have many dogs in the family we all help to care for when we're together and as you can imagine, it gets very hectic. However, we have all trained our dogs to be well-behaved and listen to commands. We had our dog professionally trained as a puppy so I do have knowledge of how to train puppies to stay, come, sit, and go to "place". I'm not a professional trainer by any means but I know the basics and know how to train puppies to do the basics. I have some friends who regularly have me let their dog out on weekends they are away. I also make sure he's fed breakfast and dinner and have stopped in at the last minute when they've needed it. I'm more than happy to accommodate when I can as I know things come up at the last minute. As for my own dog, he is so very loved, spoiled, and cared for like he is my child. He has a sensitive stomach (nothing contagious) that does require food alternatives and medications from time to time so I am also very good at giving dogs any medications they may need.

I have a fenced yard with a dog door so dogs can be outside as much as they wish. Our yard and house are safe for any dogs. Our dog is 90 pounds with a very active tail, so we keep breakable things higher up and ensure there aren't things he can get into that he shouldn't. He gets along well with all other dogs, including small dogs, but I would want them to meet beforehand just in case. We also have a 3-gallon water bowl, so there is plenty of water throughout the day, and I can accommodate feeding times if needed.

I will walk any dog and can do drop-ins on any dog. If you have a high shedding dog, I do need to know ahead of time as my husband and I are both allergic but I can typically handle most dogs alright. The higher shedding ones are harder but I can take them, my husband will likely stay upstairs and away from them to avoid any issues.
A typical day
During the week we wake up around 7 AM to get to work by 8 AM. Winston goes to work with my husband as he works in a dog-friendly place. We get home around 5:30 PM, sometimes 6:30 PM for myself as I do go to the gym after work a couple days a week, and have dinner. If it's nice out, we try to walk Winston before it gets dark. Otherwise, we relax for the evening. During the weekend, our activities are pretty much the same, but we take him to the dog park every once in a while and also take him shopping to places he can go. Our every day walks are just around the neighborhood, usually for at least 30 minutes.

Availability
With a large dog of my own, we have many daily and weekly routines. He gets fed breakfast before work, dinner at night, and gets plenty of exercise during the day while he's at work with my husband. On the weekends, he gets at least 1 walk a day and gets lots of playtime at the house and lots of cuddles. When he is on medications, we work those into our daily routines at the appropriate times.
