Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm Joy, I love spending quality time with dogs! I've been fostering dogs for the past 5 years through PAWS Chicago and have had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with a variety of dog breeds across all ages. I live by myself in a spacious one-bedroom apartment with a fenced courtyard and have the flexibility to work from home full-time. I currently have no pets of my own but had an adopted beagle named Toby in my younger 20s who has since passed. I love all breeds and have a special place in my heart for dogs in the hound family. Through my fostering experience I am especially skilled in potty training puppies, teaching tricks, walking stubborn sniffers, and of course playing with dogs and showing them an abundance of love!

I have a fenced courtyard at my apartment complex and a patio I enjoy spending time on. Your dog will enjoy plenty of fresh air as well as access to all my furniture. I also have a poofy dog bed for medium to small dogs that your dog can enjoy and snuggle up in!

I would like to know if your dog is able to be around other dogs and people. My neighborhood has an abundance of furry friends and active walkers. Also, it's good to know if your dog is able to sleep through the night or needs to be taken for a potty break.
A typical day
I live walking distance to the lakefront and love taking frequent walks outside to enjoy the weather. I enjoy playing fetch with dogs and if your dog is up for it, I'd love to bring them on dog friendly outings (e.g. coffee or brunch on a patio, shopping at Home Depot or Barnes and Noble, etc.)

I have the flexibility to fully work from home and spend an ample amount of quality time with your dog. I am intentional about setting aside time for walks and playtime in my calendar throughout the work day.
