Hi, I'm Joy. I love friendly dogs and cats of all sizes and have 20+ years experience living with and caring for giant breeds including great danes and mastiffs. I'd love to help out by dropping in to feed, walk, and play with your dog, cat, puppy, horses, livestock, small animals, and reptiles. ● I'm reliable, fun, loving, patient, gentle, trustworthy and respectful of pets, people and property. ● I treat all animals with kindness, gentleness and respect, using positive reinforcement training and handling only. ● I'm crazy about puppies, and can help with crate training, potty training, and other basic obedience training when I drop in. ● I've completed an AKC good citizen training course, and have experience with clicker training. ● I love senior dogs, cats and pets, and I'm comfortable giving medications. I will follow instructions carefully and I'm very patient with difficult-to-medicate pets. ● I take tons of photos, and can zoom or chat with you. How can I help you and your pet? A little more about me: I share my home with a friendly, goofy, senior great dane named George, Kerfuffle the cat, a rabbit named Milkbone, a small herd of dairy goats, a burro, and some chickens. I love all animals, and have experience with livestock, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, reptiles, birds and fish. I treat all animals with kindness, gentleness and respect, using positive reinforcement training and handling only.

Joy was amazing with my pup while I was out of town. If I could give her more stars, I would. She was prompt, bonded with Charlie quickly, walked him like a true expert, gave detailed updates, and even happily gave me tips / advice on leash training since that’s something we have been struggling with. I would highly recommend Joy and can’t wait to book her again.
We hired Joy for drop in visits for our dog and cat while we went on vacation. She made 20 visits, to include extra visits on the 4th of July when people were shooting off fireworks. She gave our dog medication and even spent extra time trying to get our grumpy old cat to warm up to her. Her calm demeanor and gentle touch made all the difference. She did an outstanding job, she was worth way more than she charged! We were so blessed to find her and will hire her if we need someone in the future.
Joy has been a reliable and responsible sitter for my pups on multiple occasions. She has a huge heart for animals, and is meticulous in their care and following instructions. The pups also love her.
Oh my gosh...Joy is so wonderful with animals. She took care of my 2 cats while I was away and they absolutely love her. I have also seen her in action with all her own animals and she is truly an animal person through and through. What a comfort it is to know I can trust her with my cats as well as taking care of our home while we are away.

SAFETY • I'm careful when entering and exiting your home to ensure no pets run out. • I'm patient with fearful pets, and give them time and treats to make each visit as positive as possible. • I check to make sure all doors are locked, set alarms, check gates, and ensure pets are secured as instructed. • I clear background checks regularly as part of my volunteer work. • When walking your pet, I ensure the leash and collar/harness are secure and adjusted properly. I'm comfortable walking large dogs safely, but prefer to walk them one at a time if they're really excited or or not great on a leash yet. If we encounter other pets that appear to be a danger, I will remain calm and make wise decisions to keep your pet safe. • I will get down on the floor with your pets and let them come to me to avoid fear-based issues. Does your pet have any special needs? What would you like me to do with your dog or cat when I drop in? If your pet is nervous, what's the best way to help calm? (a special toy, treat?) Are there any special rules in your house that I need to be aware of? (Like no dogs on the sofa, no cats on the counter, etc) Does your dog know obedience commands such as come, sit, stay? How does your dog behave on a leash? Is your dog reactive when walking and passing by another person, dog, cat, etc? I'd love to do a meet and greet with you and your pet so we can get to know each other!
A typical day
When I drop in on your pet, I'm happy to follow all instructions. I can feed them, refresh water, play, brush, tend to litterboxes and cleanup, give meds, go for walks, exercise in your yard - whatever works best for you and your pet. For day care and overnight stays, dogs and puppies will have a great time running around at my place. We have tons of toys, a big grassy yard, cozy beds, and easy to clean floors. Your pup will get tons of attention, love and snuggles. I can help with crate training, potty training, obedience training, leash training, bathing and nail trims. Dogs must be friendly :) I'm happy to drop in on and walk dogs of all sizes. I'm available to pet sit horses, livestock, chickens, goats, and other farm animals, small animals and reptiles, too.

Availability
SCHEDULING I'm self employed, so my schedule is very flexible. I work from home and prefer caring for pets that live nearby, but I will help outside my area for an extra travel fee. Please message me to discuss. I do some volunteer work each week, but it's easy to work around those schedules.
