Pet care experience
My husband and I are on our third rescue Siberian Husky. Our last one made it to 14 and our latest is 12 so you can see that we take very good care of our pets. Not to mention the 5 grand dogs and a sweet cheeked parrot which have all enjoyed being cared for and spoiled by me. More recently I have been house/pet sitting a 2 year old very active Bernie doodle and can provide references. I just also just finished a 7 day strint caring for 2 sweet and very active terrier mix pups along with 2 adult cats I am a walker myself and practice yoga so despite my age I am still very active but whether your dog (or cat) is very active or a couch potato I can assure you they will have loving care from Grandma Joy

Joy was an amazing sitter!!! She was super communicative- sending daily updates with pics and cute videos. She was even able to get my very shy dog who mostly hides from sitters to hang out with her. Highly recommend.
Joy was fantastic! Darcy loved her and we were able to enjoy a weekend away knowing she was in good hands. We would be happy having Joy stay with Darcy anytime we go away and she is available.
I never worry when Joy is watching my dog. He always comes home happy. Not only does Joy get my dog out for walks, she keeps him company during most the day. I feel lucky to have found my "dog person".
Joy took loving care of our older dog for many years for a week-10days at a time while my husband and I traveled. and now we have a high energy 6month old puppy who has already had Joy stay with him for a week, he loved it and we came home to a happy and healthy pup ( and maybe a little spoiled !

I can only care for pets in the client's home as our home is unfortunately not suitable for doggie day care or for overnight boarding. In the clients home I will follow the client's instructions for care implicitly. I also like to keep the client abreast of what is going on with occasional photos and updates. Your pets needs and well being are my utmost responsibility

Is your dog friendly to other dogs. How does your dog respond to cats? How does your dog respond to strangers and/or children? If your dog microchipped? Does your dog have a habit of running away given the opportunity. Has your dog every bitten or nipped anyone?
A typical day
Walks up to 1 hour long depending on the pet's energy level or several shorter walks. Throwing the ball or playing tug a war or whatever makes your pet happy. I play hide the toy with my husky and he loves it. I think it best not to do dog park visits or even car rides (except for emergencies of course. Too mIany unpredictable circumstances can develop.

I am retired and my husband and I just relocated to East Sacramento to be near our kids so I am pretty open to house/pet sitting anytime given proper notice. I have pet and house sit over the years for all of our kids many pets and more recently for friends pet as well. I am loving the interaction with a wide variety of dogs and cats. They each have their own unique personalties for sure and I love getting to know them and building a bond of trust. I realize that these critters are not just our pets but treasured members of our family and must be cared for with lots of TLC and when you hire me they will get my full on attention.
