Our whole family loves dogs and is involved. We used to have cats but my mother became allergic to them. We discussed getting a dog but my father was concerned it was too much work. Over the last few years I walked various dogs and also began caring for a friend's Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Beni, He would stay at our house when his owners were on vacation, then he would return to his owners. His owners have young children who didn't treat Beni well so they decided to adopt him out. I had taken such good care of Beni, walking him and giving him affection, that my father realized he would not be hard work. So he is now ours. I still care for him.
