Pet care experience
While I have been around and cared for cats and dogs of various sizes, shapes, and collars, my current dreams lie with reptile keeping and breeding many many scaled babies in the future. All that being said for now I’m here for the position of you pets caretaker for anything you could need. As I stated, for as long as I can remember I’ve always loved and cared for animals in a very general sense, and while dogs and cats may not be the most exotic creatures, I’ll always have a soft spot for and four legged chunk of fluff! I have cared for mostly larger breeds such as: pit bulls, German Shepards, golden retrievers, and even mastiffs. So I tend to have a better work ethic with larger dogs whom I know what to expect from, lots of jumping and slobber. I also have experience raising younger kittens as well as caring for cats of both the indoor and outdoor variety.

Josiah has 4 dogs each very unique and he is kind to them,feeds them, and gives them as much love as possible. In my opinion he would be the perfect fit to look after dogs, groom them, or walk them!
Josiah is a longtime friend that has a love for animals. He has many of his own and he takes care of all them, the way they need to be. He gives them attention by playing and cuddling with them. He is a very trustworthy person to be taking care of any animal, especially dogs. I feel that he is very good at everything.

In my own home I tend to let my cat have his own space away from my roommates dog. While they do get along, I understand that my cat can get overwhelmed and needs ‘his’ space to feel safe. That being said after learning of a pets behavior on a case by case basis I’d do my best to let them feel safe in their home as I’d be a guest there to watch them.

We’ll several things are very important to know about new dogs. The obvious such as behavior and personality, however, something I do tend to need to know is how they act around new things such as smells and people and the best way to distract and deescalate them. I find that in various settings like walks or say food being delivered while at a clients home, I don’t always know how certain dogs behave nor how to calm them down short of holding them in place and waiting for those instincts to pass. It is very important to me to know all a dogs behaviors both good and bad.
A typical day
I like to let dogs enjoy their natural instinct when playing. Usually if they have a favorite toy or activity like catch, I’ll work out a way to turn that into a game/challenge. An example would be placing a toy just out of reach while leaving it visible and help to test say a dogs problem solving skills to give it that extra workout!

Availability
I am currently making plans and working out kinks to move to the east coast. While that is several months away, currently I have a very open schedule as to accommodate for many things that would require my time. Pet care would fit in as seamlessly as any other task in my life, all I need is to add it to my weekly schedule and it’s as good as done!
