I worked with my family's dog boarding and grooming shop for over 3 yrs taking care of multiple types of dogs and some cats. I walk my own dogs as well as my boarding dogs daily and occasionally take them to the dog park. I also have two curious little kitties. I understand what it takes to get an animal to trust and I am very patient when first meeting a new dog so they feel welcome. About this sitter: Hello, name is josh and am excited for the opportunity to take care of peoples pets. I have been taking care of pets professionally for over a yr now. Why I love dog sitting I have always had dogs in my life from the time I was little. Growing up I remember every so often my family adopting a dog in need and trying to find them a good home.In my adult life my family and I ran a dog grooming and boarding shop off 19 near enterprise where the dog water cafe used to be for over 3 yrs. We took care of a variety of dog breeds including Golden Retrievers, Poodles,German Shepards, Cocker and King Charles Spaniels, Boxers, as well as other breeds too numerous to name. I now have been running my own pet sitting business for over a year and have learned even more about pet sitting. About my yard I have a backyard, it is about 600 sq ft, personally customized wooden fence about 5 and half feet high with blocks buried below the fence line to stop any diggers. The lawn it is just grassy, flat, and no trees. I also have a 300 sq ft front yard with a garden. I treat my backyard once a week with diatomaceous earth to ward of fleas and spray a light amount of disinfectant regularly to prevent any potential infections. In addition I am expanding my backyard by an additional 250 sq ft or so for a larger area for recreational activities as well, due to be finished by 6/17/14. My experience administering medication Yes and I have been successful in getting a variety of dogs to take meds in the past.

I left my dog for a week with Joshua. I appreciate that he was able to arrange this last minute, however I definitely felt uncomfortable about leaving my pup with him. He appeared irritated at the initial drop-off, which was at a strip mall in the middle of an intersection where his grooming shop is located, and does NOT appear to be a safe place to walk dogs. He also had stains all over his clothes which made me worried about how hygienic his place would be and overall care he would provide. It was clear he disliked my dog. He complained about her being “too energetic” which I suspect is because she was not walked enough. I’ve never had any complaints before about her in all my times boarding her. My dog returned back less playful and happy, smelled terribly, and was very withdrawn, and I am worried that she was mistreated there, although I will never know for sure. Joshua is a cheaper option but in retrospect I should’ve just paid a few extra bucks a day to put my pup in a secure loving home.
Josh is very personable and friendly. We felt comfortable leaving our Becks with him and he was communicative during our trip. Will use again and would refer him to anyone.

Before sitting any potential pets I would like to know the location, times for visits at the owners residence, any details about there daily routines, and what type of service is needed.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks I usually take all my dogs for a walk down my street and back or two blocks up the street from me to the Pinellas trail where there is plenty of space for the dogs to run and explore once daily. I also, if the customer is ok with it, take my boarding dogs to Walsingham dog park which is about a 4 minute ride from my house throughout the week. If scheduled at certain times throughout the month customers can request their dog to be taken to the beach. The dogs under my care never have a dull moment. Your dog's sleeping arrangement The dogs I board can go pretty much anywhere they like within my house but they like curling up to the foot of my bed a lot. My house is 3 bed, 2 bath and is about 1800 sq ft. I provide a variety of different size dog beds in the living room area to accommodate a range of breed sizes. Time I'll spend with your dog I take care of all boarding dogs 24/7 which includes cleaning/sanitizing the area around them daily, walking them to get exercise, updating their status with their owners, making sure they get along with other dogs in the household, providing ample playtime, and with the permission of the owner occasional outings to the dog park or the beach. Time I'll spend with your dog I can provide hourly visits depending on the length of time needed. Extra house-sitting services I can do anything you would need in the house from mail pick up to
