Pet care experience
Though I do not have any professional experience, I have always been a dog lover, especially of golden retrievers. Our family has owned dogs and cats since I was about 8, and I personally owned a golden retriever for time. Because I do not currently own a dog, I am always looking for an opportunity to love on pups when I see them. I also have an interest in learning reward based training skills. I do not have any formal training in this, but it is something that I would like to learn more about and get better at. Though I am a dog lover, cats have also won a place in my heart because of the cats our family has owned for the past 5 or so years.

Joshua has always had a tender heart towards animals ever since I have known him. I have seen him prioritize their needs over his own comfort many times. He researches what is best for individual pets and doesn’t ignore signs of stress for animals in his care. Not only does he take serious care for animals, he believes in serious fun with them too and that what makes him set apart. He has a passion for pets that will warm your heart as well as any pet in his care.

Let me know if there are any behavior needs that are troublesome. Though I am interested in learning training techniques, I do not have any formal education in this so I am limited in what I can do with dogs that display such behavior. Obviously, I would love to know what the dog likes to do in playtime, where he likes to walk, how long, etc.
A typical day
I live near the Plaza and Brookside in Kansas City, which are great places for dog walking. Loose Park and the Nelson Atkins are nearby which provide great open spaces for running around. If the owner is comfortable, I would love to practice reward based training for tricks and leash walking as well.

Availability
I hold a full time job as an assistant manager at HyVee, and so I do not own any pets at this time. However. I do find myself with enough time on my days off or before some of my later shifts when I gladly be willing to take your pup on a good walk, or stop by to love on him and play for a little. My schedule does change from week to week, so I will need to be contacted reasonably in advance to determine when I am available to help.
