Dog Cuddles, Pets, and Naps!

Pet care experience

Aside from having a pup of my own, I (Josh) started off as a kennel tech as my first employment (2004), including working at a veterinarian office during my high school days & a little after. (06-09) Being new to Huntsville, I realized quickly that there were not many places I found that I trusted to board my dogs. With that in mind, I realized quickly with doing Rover we were not the only ones who felt this way. So, we decided to extend our home as a resource for you and your pups when it is needed the most.

Josh and Thomas were wonderful! They send me daily updates on our dog and truly treated her like their own, we will definitely use them for future sittings!

Josh was a lifesaver when I had to come to town unexpectedly with my 130 pound 18 month old Great Dane, Clyde. My parents’ dogs didn’t want to calm down around Clyde, and they were able to accommodate him last minute. Clyde had an absolute blast. Josh kept me up to date with updates and photos every day, knowing it was tough for me!

Super nice and fun guys. Cheese had a great time and is exhausted from all the play. Very large fenced backyard and lots of pups to play with.

Josh and Thomas did a wonderful job looking after our beautiful, thirteen-year-old Schnauzer, Lilly. They were able to navigate through her occasional stubbornness about eating her staple food (as opposed to treats, which she inhales) and she came home happy and healthy as ever. We appreciated being able to board our little girl with a couple who love and understand dogs and their psychology. We will definitely call them again when we travel. I highly recommend them!

- We ask that all dogs be crate trained, and bring their crates with them when staying with us. While we are almost always at home, we may go to dinner or the grocery store, and in that case would use provided crate for that short amount of time. - We sadly cannot board dogs who free feed, as we have two house pups who tend to think every day is Thanksgiving. (Watching them afterwards does make me chuckle a little, as they take their full belly, lay on the couch and just let out the deepest sigh. It reminds me of holiday, when I over eat, and know its about to be nap time soon.) - We do have a 301 linear foot newly installed, 6 ft, privacy fence. -All pups staying/boarding will need to be fully vaccinated, and on preventatives. While we will not necessarily ask for proof, honesty is appreciated. -ALL first time boarding request are required to do a meet and greet. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE. -In addition to bringing your pups crate, please also try and bring a blanket/bed that they use at home, and their food bowl with their food if possible. (We have the water part covered.)

Information Josh & Thomas C. would like to know about your pet

We are happy to accommodate almost anything with you and your pups. At the end of the day, its a team effort, and we want this to be a positive experience for all involved. When in doubt, just ask and we will figure something out. We just ask that you be open and honest with their routines, potty training/housebreaking, likes/dislikes, favorite "pets" spot, etc. After all, while we enjoy having new pups, this is still our home, and we want to keep being able to open it to others who need us.

A typical day

With a newly fenced in backyard, the days usually start around 6:30a for a bathroom break, breakfast by 7a with coffee in hand (the coffee is for the humans), dinner for the pups is around 3p for second feedings. Work days for the humans is usually 7a-5p. Bedtime is almost ALWAYS 10pm or soon after. We enjoy our sleep around here, if that has not been obvious enough. :) Opportunity to go outside happens almost hourly it seems with both of us working from home. Between our own 2, 15 minute breaks a day, and lunches, no bladders will be held long - I can assure you of that. Afternoons are usually spent hanging out, and more laying around. Our house is over all a very quiet place, and I find that most dogs appreciate that. When boarding with kennels it can be an extremely stressful environment, & our goal here is to eliminate as much unnecessary stress as possible. Conclusion/Summary: Our day consist of food, cuddles, and pats/pets all day.
