Pet care experience
I am always on the go: running, hiking, hitting the park!! My family breeds, shows, and courses Scottish Deerhounds, Irish Wolfhounds, and Giant Schnauzers. Tons of experience with active breeds. I’ve cared for animals my whole life: from snakes and tree frogs to horses and 187 lb show dogs! I am an avid runner, but my former running buddy (Toby, 13 year old Irish Setter) passed away this summer. This means I get to share my love for running with your furry family! I love to plan trips to dog parks, forest preserves, the lakefront, and any other adventures you can dream up for your doggo! I have a 2 year old son who may tag along — he is around the giant breeds all the time and is extremely gentle. About me: I’m a Certified Sommelier/Michelin Star Restaurant General Manager-turned-stay at home mom. This means I am flexible, experienced, and come with an extra little fun bundle! I am highly attentive. I am used to juggling toddlers and (at least) seven giant breed dogs. My motto is: stay busy until the pack can’t stay awake any longer! I am extremely flexible and open to creative problem solving when it comes to scheduling. Please message me if you are unsure of timing/availability. Very often I am able to figure out something that works for both of us! I believe in exercise, exercise, exercise, affection. Once we have all had time to play and get some pent up energy released we get to enjoy cuddles and maybe a Marvel movie (or two… depending on how far we ran!)

This was the first time Jorie stayed with our Hazel and all went wonderfully! She asked how often we wanted to be updated and sent pictures everyday as we agreed. She was also very conscious of how Hazel was feeling, eating, doing her business, etc. And, Jorie took Hazel for lots of walks, jogs, and gave her plenty of playtime each day. I will definitely ask her again as we do travel often. Thanks Jorie for taking such wonderful care of our girl and our house. 😊
Jorie is amazing. She kept my dog super active, kept me updated on how he was doing, and has a great sense of humor. I would HIGHLY recommend her!
Jorie and her young son took care of our elderly dog over three days. She was punctual, communicative and seemed generally interested in our dogs well being. When we arrived home our dog gave us a relaxed hello, a good sign that he was relaxed and well taken care of during Jorie’s stay.
Was very great with my small pup. Would highly recommend to others!

A typical day
I try to choose new routes & parks to make sure the doggos get to explore new sights and smells. I also make sure to give them a few minutes of winding down when the outing is over so they are calm and ready for a nap :)

Availability
Especially in warm weather, my son and I are out and about all the time (rain or shine). This makes pet care a natural fit to our “play outside, all the time” routine.
