7 Years Kennel Tech Experience 🐾
Pet care experience
Hi there. My name is Jo and welcome to my profile! I've owned dogs and cats all my life, and I also have about 5 years of professional experience as a kennel caretaker and dog handler at a boarding/daycare facility, as well as 2 years of hands on experience volunteering at an animal shelter. In 2021 I became self employed and now make my living driving all over the PNW, helping people care for their pets and farms. In addition to just under a year of farmhand experience, I am also familiar with the handling and care of a wide variety of small animals including reptiles, fish, birds, ferrets, bunnies, rats, hedgehogs, chinchillas, you name it. I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pet(s)! I'm currently available 7 days a week for daycare, boarding, house sitting, drop in visits and walks. I'm very willing to make whatever accommodations necessary to make your pet's experience with me a comfortable, pleasant and personable one. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with a very small unfenced yard, though I do normally live a very active lifestyle and am able to exercise your pet up to 3 times a day, depending on their needs. I have a senior cat in my home, but he mostly keeps to himself, and if requested or if necessary I can easily separate the cat from your pets for the duration of their stay.
Reviews
Jordyn was great. She asked lots of questions to make sure she understood exactly what our needs were so that she could properly care for our old girl. We will be booking again for sure!
Jordyn is reliable, knowledgeable, present and communicative. Everything you would want in a pet sitter! We trust her with our four animals 100% and she's always the first person we call.
Phanny had such a good time with Jordyn that we weren’t sure she wanted to come home. She got lots of love and attention and good walks and we got good connection and peace of mind when Jordyn sent text and pictures.
Jordyn was such a lifesaver for taking our request with less than 48 hours notice, and I seriously got so lucky-- she was amazing. This was my first time using a drop off daycare with someone Judy hasn't met previously. Jordyn asked all the right questions to determine Judy's needs wherever I missed gaps in relaying information. She sent me a couple of updates on how Judy was doing on her own accord, and I could tell Judy was in great hands and as comfortable as can be. I really appreciated Jordyn telling me numerous times that she was flexible about pick up time and how communicative she was. It made me feel really at ease, and I was able to enjoy a really great day in Astoria by myself, going places where needy dogs need not go :)

When boarding/daycare or housesitting, I am able to supervise your pet 24/7. As a full time pet care provider I do my very best to get to know your pet and their individual needs by learning about their personality, their health and behavioral traits, as well as their usual daily routine, and then adhering to that as much as possible. As well as just generally being a soothing presence and an engaging companion to any animal in my care. I am confident in my ability to effectively handle all kinds of animals; be it a disabled or senior pet with a list of health issues and meds to administer, fear aggressive or resource guarding pets, pets with extreme separation anxiety, as well as every size/breed of dog and cat that you can think of.

Information Jordyn L. would like to know about your pet
Please inform me beforehand of any special needs, behaviors, aggression, separation anxiety, medical issues, etc. that your pet may have. If you're looking to book daycare or boarding services in my home, please note that I do have a feline of my own, and therefore am not able to accept boarding/daycare for other kitties, or overtly cat aggressive dogs, such as those with a very high prey drive. Please feel free to message me with any questions or concerns!
A typical day
I love hiking, and- if you're comfortable with it- I'd be delighted to take your furry friend on a fun adventure to a trail, the beach, or a park! I am very familiar with many of the local outdoor recreational areas, and your dog's safety and comfort is my #1 priority at all times. I also live just blocks away from Astoria's riverfront boardwalk, which is an excellent spot for a low key walk to check out some smells, see some local wildlife, and maybe walk through the beautiful, stimulating downtown area. If your dog is social, and if you're comfortable with it, I can also take them for a visit to our local fully fenced in dog park in Warrenton. I have extensive experience with supervising large play groups of dogs, and thus far have never had any issues with our local park!

I make my living with gigs, primarily pet care and temp farmhand work. When I'm not working with animals I'm usually working a cleaning gig or completing art commissions.
