I grew up taking care of dogs and cats outside of Denver, and I’ve had numerous animals in my adult life. I am currently a doggie dad to two beautiful rescues. Skippy, a 5 yr old miniature schnauzer was adopted as a stray from Tijuana Mexico. And Glitter, a 9 yr old rescue from “Muttville” in California. She was a stray from the streets of San Francisco and the second senior rescue we adopted from them. Freddy was my first rescue, and you can follow all of them on Instagram at @fosteringfreddy Im also proficient at bathing/grooming both my puppies myself because they’re really skittish around scissors and especially electrical clippers, (so I understand how to be patient with nervous nellies! Besides, finding a groomer is next to impossible in Durango since the pandemic.) Freddy’s on heart medication so I’m very familiar giving pills, and if further veterinary care is needed I’m open to learning. If you have a special needs dog/cat who requires injection treatments, (like for insulin or whatever) Im open to reviewing the specific techniques/requirements with you to make sure im solid with administering them. I had a cat once who suffered fatty liver syndrome, which required me to inject food into a tube surgically inserted into her neck. So I have no problem dealing with similar medical complications. (Im not grossed out by that kinda stuff is my point.)
