I am an experienced pet owner. I grew up around a Labrador and a German Shepherd in a family that didn’t understand the importance of training. Once I came to the realization on my own I taught them basic obedience and manners. I now live with my own dog, a 6 year old, 12 pound, laid back love bug and a 1 year old affectionate Siamese cat. I understand the importance of physical and mental activity for pets of all ages and can provide that through my services. I can also work with your dogs on basic obedience and proper leash walking if you would like. I feel that working with dogs professionally will make my life feel more balanced and fulfilled. For Drop In Clients: I can use my time during the drop in to let your pet outside to use the bathroom, play with them, and also work on any training you may want done. For Walking Clients: In the hot Arizona summers a lot of pet parents worry about it being to hot to be out on a walk. This is why I keep both dog boots of all sizes and portable water bowls with me at all times. Despite the heat dogs still need exercise in order to meet their physical needs. I am also trained on the signs of heat stroke in a dog and what to do to cool them down. While walking your dog I will also make sure they do well on a leash and can handle even the most high energy dogs. For House Sitting Clients: I’ve house sat many times in the past outside of Rover and the most common comments I receive are that I leave houses cleaner than I found them. As a house sitter for you I will care for your pets as if they were my own, I can bring in mail, take trash to the curb if needed, water any plants, and send you loooots of cute pictures of your pup. For Dog Boarding and Doggy Daycare Clients: I work from home full time and will be ready and available to give your four legged family members as much care and attention as they need. I live in an apartment with a fenced in dog park which is pretty much always empty so we’ll have lots of play time in a large open space where they can run and chase things. We’ll go on two walks a day, one in the morning and one in the evening, where your dogs can burn off any excess energy they may have. We can also work on any obedience training if you would like, although mostly we’ll just kick back and have fun together. For dog boarding clients specifically: if I need to leave my home while caring for your dog they always have full access to the couches to lounge on and I always leave on a calm cooking show to help ease any separation anxiety they may feel in a new space. Through these processes I will be sure to include lots of affection and rewards for their positive behavior. I only practice positive reward based training, and firmly believe that it’s much better to have a dog that loves and respects you than a dog that obeys you out of fear. Too many people punish dogs for unwanted behavior instead of redirecting them to the appropriate actions and activities. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!
