Becoming a sitter is first and foremost a way to give back to my community. Being a dog owner myself, I know how difficult it can be to leave your best friend at home or in a kennel while you travel. Money isn’t my concern (since I already have a full-time job), so I became a dog sitter to help provide pups with the love and care they need while their owner is away. My ultimate goal is to build some experience working with dogs professionally and open an animal boarding home in ten years, so Rover is the perfect stepping stone on the way to that! In addition to my experience as a sitter for friends and family, I have 15 years of experience raising my own dogs. I started off by raising two small Chihuahua puppies that are now under the care of my mom. Then, about 2 years ago, I adopted Akita mixed Rottweiler, Neko. Recently, I adopted another dog, my Chocolate Lab/German Shepherd mix, Meadow. Both are very well-trained, hardly bark, have set eating schedules and are very laid back and playful! Sometimes Neko will bark at strangers, but will be asking for belly rubs from you in no time at all! I have 7 years of professional management experience, so making sure that my guests are well taken care of and comfortable comes second nature to me! My number one priority is making your pooch feel right at home with me. I know how much dogs like consistency, so I’m happy to stick to your pup’s schedule that they’re used to at home. Additionally, I’ll always regularly communicate with owners and make sure they’re kept up to date via daily check-ins, so they can know just how their pup is getting along and show them what we’ve done during the day. I live in a 2 story condominium in the city of el Monte. I currently live with one roommate. I’ll be the primary caretaker of your pup during the stay, so they won’t be working with your dog at all. Sometimes they like to dole out some extra pets, but I’ll be doing all of the important work. I have a small gated front yard for potty breaks and a larger public yard in the back. We have three local parks that are within walking distance that I love to visit. For bigger dogs (and for each additional dog) staying the same day, I will be using my mother's home in Covina, which actually has a large gated backyard and a wonderful park down the street as well. Both areas are very safe, and very dog-friendly!
