Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. I currently have an 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, so my routine already includes feeding, daily walks, grooming, and quality time with him. I’m used to structuring my day around a pet's needs—whether it’s scheduled potty breaks, cleaning up, giving medications, or just making time for cuddles and play. On a weekly basis, I include grooming tasks like bathing, ear cleaning, and laundry for pet bedding. Because I’ve been dog-sitting for over 10 years, I’m also accustomed to adjusting my routine to meet the unique needs of each dog I care for—whether they need more walks, quiet time, or special attention. Overall, pet care isn’t something I “fit in”—it’s part of how I live every day.

In My Home: In my home, your hypoallergenic pet(s) are cared for like part of the family. I'm a stay-at-home mom, and my husband works from home, so there’s always someone present to give your pet the attention they need. I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding times, potty breaks, medications, and any specific needs they may have. We go on daily walks, enjoy playtime throughout the day, and have plenty of time for snuggles and relaxation. I also have a sweet 8-year-old Yorkie who is calm and friendly with other dogs, offering a gentle companion if your pet is social. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and structured environment where your pet can feel right at home.

Information Joni K. would like to know about your pet
It's important to me to understand each pet’s unique personality and needs so I can provide the best care possible. I’d love to know: Their daily routine (feeding times, potty schedule, walk preferences) Any behavioral quirks (anxieties, reactivity, chewing habits, etc.) How they do with other pets and people Medical needs, allergies, or medications Favorite toys, treats, and activities Any commands they know or are working on The more I know ahead of time, the more I can make your pet feel safe, happy, and at home while you're away!
A typical day
I love keeping pets active, engaged, and comfortable while they’re with me. We’ll enjoy daily walks around the neighborhood or nearby parks, tailored to your pet’s pace and needs. I also make time for play sessions—whether it’s fetch, tug-of-war, or just rolling around with a favorite toy. For mental stimulation, I use treat puzzles or simple enrichment games like hide-and-seek. If your pet enjoys companionship, they can also hang out with my gentle 8-year-old Yorkie. Whether your pet is energetic or more of a cuddler, I’ll make sure they have fun, feel loved, and get the attention they deserve!

Experienced Hypoallergenic Dog Care
Pet care experience
🐾 Loving Dog Sitting for Hypoallergenic Breeds 🐾 Specializing in Yorkshire Terriers & Small Breeds With over 20 years of experience caring for Yorkshire Terriers, I provide personalized, attentive dog-sitting services in a calm, loving home—perfect for small, hypoallergenic breeds. I am a stay-at-home mom, and my husband works remotely, so there is normally always someone home. While my family enjoys spending time with our furry guests, all care, supervision, and responsibility remain with me as the sole caretaker. During their stay, your dog will receive plenty of cuddles, attention, and love, becoming a temporary part of our family while you are away—so you can truly relax knowing they are in caring hands. We currently share our home with Thor, our sweet 8-year-old Yorkie. Thor is a rescue who came to us after surviving neglect in a puppy mill. When he first arrived, he was malnourished and fearful, often reacting with fear-based aggression. With time, patience, and consistent love, he has blossomed into a friendly, affectionate companion. My journey with Thor—and with my two Yorkies before him, who lived long lives to ages 15 and 16—has given me deep experience with special needs, senior care, and dogs working through fear or trauma. For the past decade, I’ve also provided dog-sitting services for neighbors, friends, and family. I understand the unique needs and personalities of small, hypoallergenic dogs and create a safe, structured, and loving environment where each pup feels at home. What I Offer: - 20+ years of hands-on experience with Yorkies & small breeds - Gentle, compassionate approach, with expertise in seniors, special needs, and fear-based behaviors - Ability to administer medication and/or special diets as needed - Safe, hypoallergenic-friendly, smoke-free home - Daily walks (as your pup is able) and enrichment activities - Bath upon arrival to help your dog feel fresh and comfortable - Daily face and paw clean-ups - Regular updates and photos upon request Every dog in my care is treated like a cherished member of our family, with consistency, patience, and love. If you’re looking for a sitter who understands the quirks, joys, and special needs of small, hypoallergenic breeds, I’d love to connect and make sure we’re the perfect fit for your pup!
Reviews
My husband and I traveled to Greece for two weeks, and as a first-time puppy mom I was nervous about leaving our six-month-old Pomapoo, Yuzu, at a boarding home. Luckily, I had been following Joni and her foster Thor for a while and knew she would be wonderful with small dogs. Joni took such great care of Yuzu — she sent us videos of him playing, kept him on his schedule, and even gave him a bath before we came home (he smelled amazing!). We were able to fully enjoy our trip knowing he was safe, happy, and loved. I highly recommend Joni to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pup like family!
Joni has watched my two senior Yorkies numerous times, often for up to a week at a time, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care she provides. She treats my dogs like royalty—giving them baths, showering them with love and affection, and making sure they feel completely at home while I’m away. What makes Joni stand out even more is the way her whole family bonds with my pups. Her children have developed such a sweet connection with them, which speaks volumes about the warm and loving environment she creates. It gives me real peace of mind knowing my dogs are not just cared for, but genuinely loved when they’re with Joni. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who will treat your pets like her own.
