I recently quit my job in tech to spend more time on preparing for graduate school and my own creative endeavors. I currently do my work from home, so I am able to fit pet care into my schedule very naturally and have plenty of time to provide care for clients.
About Jonathan Y.
Safety, trust & environment
I am a very active in the SF community and have planted roots down in the city. I expect to be here for a long time, and have found a loving community at Beacon House, the housing cooperative I invest a lot of my energy into. Our house currently has 7 members between the ages of 23-34 who are all animal lovers. We house quail together and are in the process of collectively adopting a cat. Any pet that is a guest at our home can expect a lot of attention and care from our community. I highly value clear and direct communication and forming a strong relationship between myself, the client, and their furry companions. In my personal life, I’m focused building my community through organizing and creating spaces where people can form authentic connections.

A typical day
I highly enjoy spending time in all the wonderful outdoor spaces in SF, like Precita Park and Golden Gate Park. If your dog is social, I'd want to bring them into a space where they can find plenty of playmates. But if not, I'm more than happy to play fetch or just simply roam around until they're satisfied. On my walks, I like to give my dogs plenty of time to take in the smells in the neighborhood. It's such fun to watch their reactions :)

Pet care experience
Over the years, I’ve had so many special relationships with animals, big and small. I grew up with a Golden Retriever and currently take care of my 11yo Chihuahua mix that I adopted at the age of 1. My house also houses four spunky quails and is in the process of adopting a cat. I focus on treating all animals with respect and dignity in order be a trusted friend to them. Prior to working with your pet, I’d love to hear about their preferences and special needs. Every furry companion is special and deserves joy in their life, and I always prioritize being someone who can provide that.
Reviews
I’ve known Jonathan for years (being their cousin, haha) and I really trust them with my dog Luna. They’ve always had a strong affection for all animals, even my notoriously stubborn dog. I usually drop Luna off when I need to go on a trip, and they came over early just to make sure my pup got his morning walk and didn’t feel anxious with all the chaos. When I got the picture updates later, he looked so relaxed and happy. Although Luna is usually in her own world. They treat every animal like family, and they go above and beyond without making a big deal out of it. If you’re looking for someone who’s dependable, gentle, and genuinely loves what they do, give Jonathan a shot.
