St Pertersburg Dog Whisperer

Pet care experience

Social animals, of every type, fascinate me. But the dog; with their beautifully human-like emotional wants, needs, and behaviors; will forever hold a special place in my heart. I have owned dogs my entire adult life; from large "problem dogs" to perfect gentleman/ladies. Besides raising my own "human-pups" and (recently) marrying my best friend, learning what made each of my beloved dogs unique, and helping them live long, happy lives, has been one of the great joys in my life. I have always had a natural repore with these furry life companions, and spent much of my free time learning about their behaviors and specific canine needs.

Jon is great with my hound Max. He sends me daily text reports on how the walks go, tips on training Max and making sure he is the happiest dog he can be. Max is always excited to see Jon around the neighborhood and couldn't be happier.

I can not think of a better doggie Dad!! I worked at the shelter in N.C. where Jonathan adopted his dog Max. They drove from St Pete to adopt him!!! He now has a better life than lots of people do!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jonathan, and trust him completely! ! Your dogs will LOVE him, and so will you since you can be assured they are in wonderful ,capable , loving hands!!

Jonathan is a very great guy with a very great heart! He is wonderful with all of my kids (2 legged and 4)! His love of animals is obvious! I would definitely use him as a dog sitter! I wish he lived closer!!!

Jonathan has a great way with dogs! I have a high-strung Jack Russell who believes he rules the world. Jonathan was amazing when he introduced our Alpha-Male-Who-Hates-Any-Other-Male Dog-Bigger-Than-Himself to larger male. He spoke gently and firmly and changed what could have been an explosive meeting into something calm. Two paws up for Jonathan!

Information Jonathan O. would like to know about your pet

Your pup and I will get to know each others personalities over time, but please let me know if there are any special conditions. Alphas can be difficult to handle when improperly trained, especially with a new member of the pack. Please let me know if your boy or girl has ever displayed aggressive behavior, or been naughty enough to bite! This will by no means detour my services, but it's important for both my safety, and the dogs, that I be aware of any past issues.

A typical day

First things first! I want to meet you! And more importantly, I want to meet my new four-legged friend! Contact me for an initial visit, so you can tell me all about my new pal. Also, so I can familiarize myself with his/her temperament, and anything required for the special, personalized care I will be providing. After all, I need to know who/what and where to find "Rover's" favorite toy! Walks will be taken around your own neighborhood. Our four-legged pals like few things more, than to stroll around areas close to their pack's "den". They may have important "pee-mail" they need to read, left by their nearby canine friends. But more importantly, it's a chance for them to get outside, take in the local sites and smells, to make them feel more secure and confident in their own neighborhood. For home visits, it's all about YOUR dog. Like you and me, our pets can get lonely and bored when left alone for long periods of time. How long that is, wholly depends on your pets personality and individual needs. During our initial visit, I'll ask questions about your pup, including favorite activities, games, and interests. As your pet and I get to know each other, we'll come up with a game plan specially suited just for him or her. Is your dog great with other dogs? So is mine! For special canine boys and girls, (that get permission from their moms and dads), the "mighty" Maxwell Silverhammer himself can come along for walks or some quality play time. High energy pup? Max can wear him down, so everyone can get a peaceful nights rest.
