The Hudson River beach. the Longpath trails and bay is our scenic part of the river and nearby state park trails are off our very private street. It's been called an eclectic hideaway for artists and likened to small fishing village by some. We are located in a unique safe and pet friendly Dutchtown neighborhood in Haverstraw, NY (bordering Congers and New City) with spacious accommodations on a private beach, with many neighborhood doggie friends as well as beautiful state park trails only a short 1 minute walk away. Our service is perfect for those who think of your pups as family members more than pets. You can easily see what kind of experience your furry four-legged friend will have based on photos (lots!) and references. Dog-sitters are considerably less expensive than pet hotels, and it seems that you get way more value and personal service for the $$. Your pets will tell you in their special way to definitely keep us away from kennels and bring us to Dutchtown where we can play in the parks and beach. The dogs we care for range in size from toy to medium-large doggies of about 45 pounds…and kitties too; we have one beauty, a regular visitor, over 75 pounds. The special care of elders and puppies are part of it. We watch shedding pups -with added $25 fee charge- from medium size and up.... or no shedding clean charge if at your home. We always feed your dog his or her favorite diet that you supply or can arrange with you in advance to have food on hand should you need. For first timers, we can visit your home so you can see how your pet bonds or visit us here. We also have local references in your area. At the end of the block, a one minute walk, is the north entrance to the Rockland Lake State Park/Hook Mountain/Nyack Beach nature trail and bikeway, a scenic miles trail along the cliffs of the Hudson River where one can see rare birds, doggies love it, the ruins of old WPA stone houses, and a monument marking the spot where Benedict Arnold handed over the plans for West Point to the British during the Revolutionary War.
