Ultimate Animal Lover

Pet care experience

About me? Well, I just recently resigned from the U.S. Border Patrol so I have a lot of confidence in myself when I say I am highly trustworthy and most certainly accountable. Like my headline says, I am the ULTIMATE animal lover and I will always be open to sitting all pets, but I especially love the pups. Unfortunately, my dog of 14 years, Izzy, pasted away a few months ago. No, I haven't been looking for a new best friend yet, I would feel too guilty if I replaced my buddy so quickly. Anyways, I can honestly say that the past 60-90 days is the only time in my entire life, that I can remember, which I have not had at least one dog in the family. Technically, I don't have any professional experience in the dog sitting industry, YET, but I do have 30+ years of experience caring and handling dogs. As many as 9-10 dogs at a time and every shape and size of dog. I love to get the dogs outside to run, either a park or beach, however, I understand that's not for every pup and I have no problem creating a more mellow type of fun for those who need it. I do have three young boys who stay with me a couple nights a weeks but my calendar should indicate when I am available for travel sitting and home sitting. Just so long as my calendar permits it, I'm willing to stay with or keep your pup for an afternoon, overnight, a week, whatever it takes. I think this gonna be a lot of fun and I'm excited to get started. Why I love dog sitting Been a dog lover since I can remember. The very first dog I can remember (approx. 5 or 6 years old) is a black Cocker Spaniel named Buddy. Buddy was an awesome dog and went everywhere the family went. He was a perfect family dog and was great with me and my two older sisters. About 10 years later is when our family really started to accumulate several pups. First we started with adopting another Cocker Spaniel, Rusty, and shortly after that we adopted an Australian Sheep Dog, Tess. We had the 3 dogs for about 2 years until Buddy pasted away at the age of 16. Approximately another year after that our family adopted a Black Lab/Great Dane mix, Nicky and Brown Lab, Molly. I absolutely feel in love with the BIG dog. As a high school graduation present I got my very own Yellow Lab, Woody. Woody and I stayed in San Diego to attend college but we got our own place and started living it up. He constant shedding made him a messy roommate but there was no doubt we were best friends. While it was only Woody and I at our place, My mother kept adopting. At this point I don't even remember which dogs were adopted in which order anymore but I do know Duke (Beagle), Rudy (Scottie Dog), Faris and Tramp (Cocker Spaniels) all joined the family during my college years. My mom traveled often to visit my sisters out of state and I would always volunteer to housesit, HOWEVER, I was really volunteering to dogsit. 9 dogs at a time....sounds like a disaster but actually a lot of fun. After college I moved into a bigger house and immediately brought in some new members to mine and Woody's family. Duke, my mom's Beagle came to our house first because he was getting old and often sick. Being around so many other dogs didn't seem to be the right environment for him so we took him in. Next was Rocket, a Black Lab I actually picked up off the side of the Interstate 8 freeway way out east near Laguna Mountain on a super cold, super raining day. AND YES, OF COURSE, I did more then my due diligence to find his rightful owner but as the months past he certainly became my dog. For about 2 years it was the four of us, me, Woody, Duke and Rocket. (Sorry, check back soon) My experience administering medication Yes, I gave my dog, woody, medication everyday for eight and a half years after finding out he was epileptic.

Jon has been absolutely incredible with our pup. We have a high energy husky puppy and I couldn't imagine trusting her with anyone else. He sent updates regularly, and kept in contact, took her on field trips (with our permission of course) and truly treated her as if she was his. He has sat for Lakoda multiple times, and will continue to be our go to. We highly recommend Jon and couldn't be happier.

Jon did a great job with my two guys. I've got a shiba inu and a young gsd that need a lot of exercise and attention. He came by house frequently while I was away for the weekend and gave me updates. They seemed happy and tired when I returned, just how I like them!

Jon was awesome for my girls. He came to meet them before the trip and Casey was a little shy, but by then end of the weekend she had warmed up to him (unusual for her). He was dependable and kept in touch about when her stopped by and the best part was he sent us pictures of the girls during the weekend. My daughter was extremely happy they were well cared for. We are definitely going to call him for our next trip.

Information Jon E. would like to know about your pet

Obviously I would want to know as much as possible, but mostly I would want to know how active your dog is. How well does your dog get along with others? Can I take your dog to the park and run him/her around? I love doing that kind of stuff but I don't necessarily have to if your pup isn't into it. I do not prefer any one breed over another. I do love big dogs however would never turn away any dog.

A typical day

Time I'll spend with your dog as much as he or she needs, really. I've always got errands to run during the day, but if you and your dogs are comfortable with it they can always go with me. Extra house-sitting services Oh yeah, ABSOLUTELY.
