My name is Joie, I am 21 years old and I have a huge heart for animals!!! I've always loved animals since I was a kid; I spent a lot of time outside looking for insects and other critters. I am currently a sophomore at Grand Valley studying Wildlife Biology, but I am home in GR for the summer! Growing up, I had (and still have) a little black cockapoo named Libby, and now I have a dog of my own! Rosie is a 2 y/o total mutt (but I'll tell you her exact breed if you care). She is the smartest, sweetest little rambunctious bundle of joy I ever met. She gets ridiculously excited about other dogs whenever she sees them, and she enjoys endless belly rubs and cuddles! I started dog sitting quite a bit before Rover for friends and neighbors and since then I have loved the job!! I have always been super involved with animals, I've done lots of volunteering at John Ball Zoo and through Grand Valley's Pre-Vet club. I've also gotten so much experience from working at two vet offices previously. I love to hang out with your pets, go on long walks, cuddle and pose for some adorable photos! I'm going into my fourth summer on Rover! You should know I am very flexible and happy to work around anything you need, and I'm very communicative if I have any questions or concerns! !!!DISCLAIMER ABOUT HOUSESITTING!!! I want to be as transparent as possible because I am only a good match for some clients due to owning my own dog!! This is my first time opening up my housesitting availability through Rover, but I do need to put it out there that my dog goes with me wherever I go! Please consider before booking me, Rosie is very dog-friendly and highly socialized, that being said she makes an excellent playmate! However, she is 2 years old and pretty high energy, she is also known to be a little weird around cats due to little experience. We can set up a doggie meet and greet to make sure both of our pets will be a good match during the stay. Please ask me further questions if you have any! :)

First time using a sitter and using Rover... We were very hesitant but needed a vacation. Best decision EVER! Joie is wonderful, loved the pictures and the check ins. We will definitely recommend her and Rover to our friends and family.

Before sitting dogs, it is nice to know command words like "go potty", eating schedule, unusual behaviors, tendencies such as what they like to get into, whether or not they bite, if they pull on the leash on walks or when they see other people/dogs. Definitely tell me all their nicknames!!
A typical day
Upon the first step in the door, your pets will be smothered in love and affection! We'll spend time outside if the weather is nice, or we can cuddle and play with some toys inside. On walks, I try to switch up the paths from time to time, and I walk pretty fast-paced so your dog is guaranteed good exercise!
