Aussie butts drive me nuts

Pet care experience

My family has had dogs for my entire life. We started out with two chow chows, and after a brief puppy hiatus, we switched over to having Australian shepherds. Currently, my family has seven Aussies, with another two that have since passed (side note: one of these dogs was especially ill; I have years of experience giving oral medication as well as insulin injections). It is very common for us siblings to take turns watching each other’s dogs in addition to our parents’ all at once. You haven’t seen wild until you play fetch with the Aussie Posse! My strength as a sitter and/or dog caretaker is that I will ensure not only make sure that your dogs is healthy and safe, but I’ll guarantee their happiness during their time with me. I currently live with my two Aussies, Gram & lLouie. Gram is just over 2.5 yo, and he LOVES other dogs - rough play included! Lovable Louie wants all the attention all the time. My normal routine with the dogs is to walk them about every hour and be sure to get them exercised with some rigorous play time. DISCLAIMER: Dogs that have any history of aggression, household destruction, severe anxiety, or using the bathroom inside of the home will be promptly denied any service, present or future. This is to ensure the safety & respect of myself, my animals, my Rover friends, as well our home. I work full time ~10 mins from my home. My work schedule is as follows: S-M: 7a-7p, T-Th: 7a-1p. On my long days of work, I come home for lunch and to tend to the dogs. We live in a single small family home in Oakmont. We have a fully fenced in back yard, deck, and patio space for the dogs to play freely. I also am a huge fan of taking my pack to the local dog parks so they can meet some new friends. Also, Oakmont may be one of the dog-friendliest places I have lived! Lots of safe walking space and passerby's to sniff.

John is just the best. My dog is friendly but very high energy and he is worn out every time he comes home from staying with John. He sends me pictures of their adventures and helps me out with dropping him off when I need it. Just can’t say enough great things about him. Your pup will be safe and have a blast with this guy.

John was amazing with our pup! She stayed in his home for a week while we were on vacation. John listened to our instructions and made us feel confident that our little girl would be well cared for. He sent daily updates with pictures and even took our pup to a local state park for a hike along with his two dogs over the weekend. When we returned, our girl was happy, healthy, bathed, and well-cared for. She will definitely be having more stays with John!

My dog Baker appeared to feel right at home with John and his dogs. I got regular updates and photos of how he was doing. Without hesitation I’d send Baker to spend time at John’s place again. John has a beautiful fenced yard for the dogs to play in. It isn’t large, but my 60+ pound dog didn’t seem to notice. John also took the dogs staying there out for regular walks and long hikes in our town’s local wooded park. It’s a pretty enormous park where dogs are welcome to be off-leash, but John will keep your dog on-leash if you prefer. I was nervous to leave my beloved pet with a stranger, but this ended up being a really perfect experience.

Ozzie loved playing with the Aussie Posse and helping “garden” aka steal his share of water!

How is your dog off the leash? How do they socialize with other dogs & people? Have they ever shown signs of household destruction such as chewing walls or furniture? Do they have a history of aggression in any way? Do they have a history of using the bathroom in the house? Do they have any anxiety triggers?

A typical day

We plate fetch religiously. We love going on hikes and long walks, especially places with water! We aren’t afraid to get a little dirty as long as bathing your pup isn’t a problem.
