I work during the week. My weekends are sometimes open. I'm usually the first person my friends and family ask to watch their dogs or cats when they go out of town. I have a lot of experience with dogs and I enjoy spending time with them. I've had two dogs for the last seven years. I worked various assignments overseas for a few years and had to board my dogs for two to five months at a time each year. Prior to getting my current dogs, I went 25 years without having one. I left my last dog with a friend when I went into the Navy. He was supposed to watch him for eight weeks until I got out of basic training. He ran away from my friend’s house and I never saw him again. After that I didn’t get another dog because of all the travel, moves, and deployments. With my experience boarding my own dogs for long periods of time and the loss of my other dog, I understand how it is to leave your dog with someone. I also know how hard it is to find someone who can watch your dog for more than a couple of weeks at a time.
