Pet care experience
I am not someone who had a dog growing up but have had a fondness for animals all my life. Parker became my first dog adoption 6 years ago which coincides almost exactly with when I became a certified dog geek. To this day I research everything I can find out about dog health, dog behavior, dog training and dog social dynamics. This prepared me well once I began caring for dogs through Rover. What I have learned through readings no watching and personal experience helps me provide a safe and comfortable visit while helping or woofy guests have an enjoyable time with us.
Reviews
John and Parker took great care of my dog Ebony for almost a week. John is observant and attentive to the behaviors and needs of each individual dog in his care and to managing group dynamics to make sure everyone is safe and gets along. John gave us updates throughout Ebony’s stay with details on her behavior so we could gauge how she was managing the transition. Ebony enjoyed playing with Parker and John was very easy to work with. He accommodated an immediate request for a meet and greet and offered a discounted day care visit in advance of our trip so Ebony was familiar with he and Parker when we left her for boarding. I would not hesitate to board with him again.
John has been so wonderful with our two goldens. They seemly adore him and look forward to their walks with him. He has already walked them twice and we hope to continue this!
John was great. Kept me updated with pics and messages all day which made me feel comfortable. Moochie seemed to have had a good time. Will be returning.
Roxy had a wonderful time. She didn’t want to leave. John was great with providing updates and pictures.

While your pup is here with us they will be consistently supervised wherever they and Parker are in our grassy backyard, playing indoors, eating or napping. I keep our home tidy and dog safe at all times. With very few exceptions I only accept one dog at a time here so you don’t have to worry about your dog getting lost in the shuffle or being overwhelmed by multiple dogs. For boarding and daycare, I do not have any breed restrictions per se.. We’ve hosted an 105 lb dog and two 9 lb brother and sister pups and everything in between. One restriction I do have is that if your dog requires a prong collar, electric collar or similar to keep them controlled while outside of the house, I cannot accept pups with that type of leashing as I’m not experienced with handling those situations. Gentle leaders are ok provided that your pup is not reactive to having it out on. My experience in doing this for a while is that they would definitely do best with a Rover sitter who currently does not have another animal in their home. For walks and drop ins I am willing to work with virtually any dog breed size and temperament provided it can be done safely. 🐶ANY FIRST TIME CLIENTS BOOKING A BOARDING STAY OF 2 NIGHTS OR MORE HAVE THE OPTION IF BOOKING A DAY CARE STAY FOR JUST $25 A WARMUP TO THE BOARDING STAY! THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY GOR DIGS WITH SEPARATION ANXIETY OR PUPPIES BOARDING FOR THE FIRST TIME! Please inquire for more details.

Information John D. would like to know about your pet
Any info you think is important for me to know, please feel free to share and I will make any accommodations that I can for your pup to have a safe and happy visit on a walk or visit to Parker’s Play and Stay. My goal is to try to support any work you are doing at home to change undesired behaviors, reinforce positive behaviors and if anything we do our best not create new undesirable behaviors.
A typical day
Parker loves loves to play with floppy animal toys indoors and to chase balls in the back patio. If your dog likes to play then he or she will fit right in. Even if your dog is shy or lower energy we will adjust to their preference, we have had many like that come to stay with us and we will meet them where they are at. On many occasions we have had pups stay with us who “don’t play” but Parker and I get them to try it out and we surprise the pup parents with videos of them having playtime fun! In addition to our backyard, we have a few great parks here in NoLibs with lots of curious and exciting sniffable spots. We have dog beds and dog bowls for our guests and a giant crate that we leave the door open…for any time a dog decides they want to go in for some down time.
