I am a cellist and spend many hours in my house practicing. A few years ago, we put down our beloved animals and I have not had the heart to replace them - but I so miss the companionship that animals offer. I will treat your animals as if they were my own. I would love to meet you and your animal prior to boarding so that I can understand all your animals needs and your fears of leaving your beloved child with a stranger! I do NOT believe in locking animals up, however, in rare cases in must be done. I do teach a few students in my home, since kids move fast and sporadically, I would confine your animal to my bedroom so they can relax in peace. The other situation would be for animals that suffer severe separation anxiety - then for their own safety, after consulting with you and the staff at DogVacay - they would need to be confine to a crate when I am not here to be their companion. I also do NOT believe in leaving animals in my backyard for long periods of times. I consider animals to be an extended part of my family - so I treat them just like any other member of my family- with the utmost love and respect. The only time your animal would be left alone is for a few hours while I teach, attend orchestra rehearsals, and/or concert. (If I could bring them with me, I would, in a heartbeat!) Typically, I am never gone from my house for more than a 4 hour block. I enjoy pets and while you are away on vacation, work, or whatever reason - know that your pet is in the best care - and getting some free musical education!
