Master Recipient of Dog Kisses

Pet care experience

I have a very strong background in gardening and volunteer work. I have worked mostly with chickens, goats, and spent a summer working with elephants in Laos. Though, I have dog-sat for friends and family at quite a few times. I currently own two dogs whom I have had since 2008. I hope to put my love for animals into this job mindfully, attentively, and professionally. I can tend to almost any of your pet’s needs, and I’m willing to go the extra mile to make you and especially your pet, happy. I’m open to any constructive criticism and comments of the work I do for you. I currently am at another job but they are extremely flexible in many situations. Feel free to ask me more about my experience and scheduling.

Johanna was a joy to have around, she is passionate and exuberant and our family is so lucky to have met her! As the proud owners of 4 of the most spoiled dogs in the world, my wife an I are always careful when choosing who we get to watch our furry family. When we had to leave town in a pinch and couldn't find anyone to help we were both worried sick about what to do! Fortunately for us, it didn't take long into our first meeting with Johanna to see how much she cares for pets of all shapes and sizes. She has a giant heart made of gold, and we knew we wouldn't be able to find a better sitter. Even Carlton, aka the neediest dog in the world, warmed up to her almost immediately. We can't recommend Johanna enough!

I have known Johanna for about a decade now. She is and has always been a lover of animals. She has always had dogs herself and is a wonderful dog-mom. I, myself, am a dog-mom as well and have trusted Johanna to dog sit for me when I am out of town. My dogs absolutely adore her, and I will reach out to her again in the future when needed. I highly recommend all dog owners to do the same!

Johanna is a very responsible individual. she is great with the family dogs, takes them for walks at the park and always looks up for them and always makes sure all their needs are met.

Johanna has been an excellent caregiver to my 2 poodles, Beanie and Bonkers, for two years now. I got them as puppies and worked full time during the week. Johanna potty trained, bathed, walked, and groomed them daily. She’s attentive, friendly, responsible, and all around an excellent dog sitter. Highly recommend!

It's all about the little things. I am constantly considering the hydration of my own and others animals. I change my dog's water bowl three times a day. Making sure that animals feel fully seen and considered such as taking long walks, making sure they're completely satisfied when using the bathroom, and that I interact with them to make sure they feel loved.

Information Johanna P. would like to know about your pet

No preferences of breed or size matters to me but I would like to know the size, the breed, the age, vaccines (verbal proof is fine), and if they’ve been fixed before meeting the animal(s).

A typical day

If allowed by the owner, dog parks can be really fun and let out a lot built up energy dogs have from being indoors. It’s pretty hot outside right now, so I would make sure to take them to shaded areas to go on walks and to go play fetch. Also if allowed by the owner, The animal(s) can interact and play with my dogs. They have be neutered and spayed and are extremely friendly. Also, there are many beautiful connecting parks in south Knoxville, a part of the Urban Wilderness Project. Many of the parks have shaded areas and hiking trails. It feels like you’re in the heart of the Smokies in Knoxville. Also, I am very aware that animals need affection, and a lot of it. That will be a 100% guarantee!

I'm very flexible with my part time work. I do social media for a friend, so I essentially get to work the hours I feel like working.
