I volunteered at Brownsville animal shelter for 2 years when I was in high school and got to work with both cats and dogs. I dewormed, fed, played, bathed, and performed tick treatment on them. I really enjoyed my time there as I didn't have the resources at home to have my own pet at the time. I went to college to study Biomedical Science in the Veterinary school at TAMU and have had many animal science classes and have a good background on how they should be fed, as well as animal anatomy. To top off my experience with animals, I have 3 cute fur babies of my own, all cats. My oldest is 3 and the youngest is 1. I've had them for 2 years and have learned so much from them. I think of them as my own children and care for them just the same. I can promise your fur babies will get the same treatment. OH! And I fostered kittens for 1 year when I lived in College Station with a local rescue. I got multiple batches along the months and bottle fed some and carried out lots of medical treatment as most of them came from the streets and needed to be nursed back to health. As far as recent dog experience goes, I pet sit my cousin's beagles often. They are more high maintenance than cats but I can care for them just as well. My time at the animal shelter, the animal science classes I've taken, and my experience taking care of her doggies have all helped me learn more and more. And one more thing: I also have experience taking care of reptiles (geckos, snakes, and lizards). As well as other fur babies, like gerbils and hamsters; Just ask away! :) I am currently taking 2 classes to finish off my bachelor's and minor (I graduate in December). I only have classes Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays but get out relatively early. And of course, the weekends are free for me so I'm available at any time. Feel free to discuss your scheduling needs with me to work something out! My cats are very low maintenance but still take the time to make sure they are stimulated and healthy. They are fed twice a day. I introduce new toys to them often and take them out on walks on the leash to get some fresh air (they love it). I trim their nails, clean their litter daily, give them their treats, groom them as they constantly shed, and actively keep and out for sneezing, abnormal breathing and any behavior that isn't normal for them in case they need a visit to the vet sooner than expected. As for dogs, when I pet sit my cousin's dogs, I walk them, make sure they use the restroom, play with them often as they are very active, bathe them, and make sure they have their facetime calls with their momma so they can hear her voice.
