I believe dogs can be some of the best listeners. I know we don't speak the same language, but no matter what I talk about, Kevin, my 2-year-old Cockapoo, responds with curiosity, wonder, and a loving kindness that requires no words. I’ve just moved from the Las Vegas area, where Kevin and I enjoyed hiking to Red Rock Canyon at least once a week. We love to hit the trails and chill on the big rocks all afternoon. We also love to walk through the parks in town -- every morning Kevin and I head out for a 30-45 walk -- or later in the day as the sun is setting. It makes for some great bonding time and we also get to be out in the community to make friends with other people and dogs. I’ve been around dogs for the past 20 years, and it was my first dog, Spiderman, that introduced me to professional dog training. After nine months of training, we graduated with honors and I started volunteering at a local training facility. I trained and lived with two more pups in high school after Spiderman transitioned on and Rosie and Cooper were trained in the same way. Cooper and I volunteered with a friend for a dog training company when we lived in Chicago and these days, Kevin and I spend up to three hours a day training to become a service animal team. Working with Rover lets me flex my dog-training skills as well as meet new pups. Plus, the Rover app makes it easy for me to show owners how much fun their pup, Kevin and I are having as well as any progress your dog is making in training. I have never been in a situation where kindness has not improved the circumstances. I work professionally as an actor and I've performed everywhere from Broadway to children's birthday parties. I’ve found these places are so much more similar than they are different. This is kind of the same with people and dogs too -- each one is different, yet similar, and if I don’t know something, I ask it to find out what it is to make the best situation possible. In other words, I like to sniff it out -- something every dog can relate to! I also have experience with cats, so if you need someone to check in on your feline friend, I can help with that too.
Reviews
Joey is awesome! He took great care of our pups by staying at our house with our dogs. He is detail oriented and has a very calm demeanor. Joey kept me updated with text and photos. Our 3 pups seemed quite content when we arrived home. Joey did a meet and greet prior our visit and he is a very confident, trustworthy pet care professional. We look forward to having him stay at our home with our pups in the future.
Always 5 stars for Joey! He's very reliable, patient, and kind. He definitely knows what he's doing when it comes to communicating with our puppy and helping us "train" him. He has great insight and suggestions, and always goes above and beyond what we need. Ace is always excited when we arrive! :)
Joey did a great job walking my dogs. He also practiced their commands so they get used to different handlers. I highly recommend him.
Joey is a kind caring soul, who has never met a stranger. Growing up, he always had pets, all types of pets like fish, ducks, and dogs. He loves animals. We often cared for our friends and neighbors pets as well. Joey always took care of our family pets and those we were house sitting. Joey is the perfect match for house and pet sitting, he grew up doing and loving just that.

Information Joey S. would like to know about your pet
I like to set up meet and greets, to start conversations about what kind of care and training I can provide for your pup. Asking the right questions helps me get to know what you might need help with everyday or if there’s anything special and unique to your dog’s daily routine. I’m open to all breeds and temperaments and would like to do a meet and greet at the local dog park or a park near your home to introduce myself and my buddy, Kevin to your pup. We take comfort in our daily walking and exercise routine, so I would love to know about your dog’s routine too. I’ll take notes during our meet and greet so that we both can have a reminder of what we learned when the time comes to apply it.
A typical day
Kevin and I like to head out every morning for a 30-45 minute walk each morning and we also take shorter, more stop-and-smell-the-roses walks a few times throughout the day. I also love to hike the trails around Red Rock Canyon. I’m new to town, so exploring the area is also on the agenda. Depending on your pup’s needs, we would adjust our schedule accordingly. I like to play ball with Kevin (I'm usually a little better at it than him, but he always wins at tug of war). If your pup has a favorite game, we'd love to learn it and play that too. There’s usually a midday nap involved in our routine and Kevin and I work up to three hours a day on training, something that I’m happy to do with your pup as well.
