Pet care experience
When I began doing sits for rover clients two and a half years ago, two things brought me to the job: I loved animals and I needed extra income. I had dog-sat for friends and family before, but I had never done so professionally. Years later, I still love animals, but my fondness for, familiarity with, and knowledge of dogs has grown considerably. I've accrued an abundance of experience sitting for clients all over Austin, taking care of home and furry family in a responsible, prideful, and enthusiastic manner. I have a 5-star rating with 40 reviews and 17 repeat clients. I have never cut short or cancelled a sit, and only an emergency would ever cause me to do so. I'm easy-going and friendly, sensitive to the needs of the pets I'm sitting, very attentive to details, and always mindful of the clients' desired routines and conduct.

Joel saved the day for us when we needed a last minute sitter for our dog who had kennel cough and couldn't be boarded. He took amazing care of our dog who had some specific instructions given that he was sick and needed medication. He also took great care of our house! He ran the dishwasher and changed and washed the sheets before he left. I felt really confident leaving both our dog and our house in his care and would definitely use him again in the future.
If you’re considering asking Joel to watch your pups, just do it. Joel is the best! We have a quirky and kind of difficult dog, and he went above and beyond to make sure we were at ease and everything was going well (it was our first time having someone other than family watch Bentley). He made sure our pup got plenty of exercise, sent tons of photos, went to the dog park, and plenty more. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to watch our pup than Joel. If you’re needing help with your fur babies while away, I can’t recommend him enough!!

Another great experience with Joel. I've lost count how many times he's cared for my gang - two dogs and a cat - but every time is better than the last. He even remembered things I forgot to tell him this time, like trash day and the mail! Excellent care and communication. Thanks again Joel!

I always do what the client typically does with their dogs and cats, in regards to walk and play and time spent together. It's important to me to keep the pets' routines as close to normal as possible. This is practically always what the client is looking for while away. As for my own routine, I'm not a drop-in and get-out sitter. I spend lots of time at the client's home, keeping their pets company at the same time.
