I have adopted dogs from the shelter since I was 15. Dogs are my absolute favorite animal. The volunteers at the shelter I adopted from last described me as a "calm alpha". This fits me well when it comes to dogs. I am able to stay calm yet firm with dogs if need be. I am also very affectionate and treat animals like they are either guests or part of the family. This means they are allowed to sit on the couch (if you are ok with it) and sleep on the bed. I was also a therapeutic foster parent for a few years and had an adopted lab at the same time. I spent some time teaching the dog how to be more therapeutic in nature and be calm with our foster children. This was a great experience and improved my ability to be with a variety of dogs. We like to keep our rates relatively low to make dog sitting affordable for people. My partner Nikki and I do this because we love dogs and we love to have their company. We live in a family home with several generations in our house (youngest is 11yrs old and here occasionally). Let us care for your dog and I promise they will be treated as if they were part of our family while they are here. :) Also note that either my partner or I are almost always home through out the day. So, your pet will not be home alone for a long period of time. Please note: We currently have a large dog living with us and two small chihuahuas who visit from time to time. Your dog must get along with other dogs. We cannot accommodate dogs who are aggressive with animals at this time.
