Hi there! Welcome to Alyssa and Joe's Dog Sitting Page! We are both animal lovers who are eager to spend time and take care of your furry best friend while you are away enjoying your well deserved vacation or night out on the town - worry free. Here is a little bit of information for you to learn more about each of us: Alyssa works in Digital Advertising in Manhattan as her 9-5, but her true passion lies within helping dogs in need. She is the Co-Founder of Pups and Pints, which is a charity that raises money for local animal shelters and rescues through an annual dog friendly bar crawl in Brooklyn. Over the past 2 years since the charity started, she has raised over $4,000 for animals still looking for their furever homes. She also dedicates her time as a Volunteer Dog Walker at North Shore Animal League in Port Washington, NY and has experience walking dogs of all types with various needs. Alyssa grew up with dogs and her family currently has two dogs, Bronxie and Daisy which are still huge parts of her life. Fun fact about Alyssa is that she looks like the singer, Pink! Joe currently works in the legal field in Downtown Manhattan. Growing up, Joe had 3 dogs throughout his life that he loved and considered them family members. Since meeting Alyssa's dogs, Bronxie and Daisy, he has made himself part of the pack. He loves to take them for long walks and play fetch with them outside until they are exhausted and ready for a nap. Every time Joe walks through the door, both dogs light up with excitement and greet him with lots of kisses. Not having a dog of his own unfortunately, Joe wanted to use his space and time to help care and provide for your lovable pet. Fun fact about Joe is that he looks like the singer, Bruno Mars! We see dogs as family and every dog deserves a loving and welcoming home, even if their owner is not around. For this reason, we wanted to become Rover Dog Sitters and open up our home to people like you who feel the same way about their pet. Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Before sitting a dog, we would like to know the following: - Is the dog food possessive? - Is the dog object possessive? - Does your dog get along with other dogs? - Is the dog house trained? - Does the dog have any allergies? - Does the dog need to take any medication? - Is the dog good with kids? - Is the dog good with strangers? - Does the dog need a specific collar or harness that needs to be worn on walks? - How often do you typically walk your dog in a day? - How long can the dog be left at home alone? If there is anything else we should know about your dog that isn't asked in the questions above, please let us know. No breed preferences, we accept all types of dogs!
A typical day
While staying with us, please feel free to bring your dogs favorite bed, toys and/or treats to make their stay a little bit more comfortable and relaxing. If not, we can provide a comfy bed, fun toys and tasty treats for your convenience (but please bring your dogs dry and/or wet food that they prefer for meals). If your dog is crate trained and needs to be crated while left alone or at night, please bring that along as well. We allow dogs on our couch, but if you do not allow that within your home, please let us know so that your dog does not bring home any unwanted habits. We live very close (10 minute walk) to Forest Park where we would bring your dog for nice, long walks throughout the day. With the permission of the owner, we would also let the dog spend some time off leash at the dog park to make new friends and have some well needed time to run around. Since we are mainly available on weekends, we plan on staying with dog a majority of the time so that they get the full attention and love that they deserve.
