Pet care experience
I had two dogs growing up from the age of 5-18 until I went off to college. Texas Tea (Because he was a Kerry Blue Terrier that never changed color and stayed black as oil) and Dodger named after Billy Joel's animated character in Oliver because that's what he looked like. While we bought Tex from a breeder, Dodger was a stray dog that was scratching and howling at our garage who we just took in and loved for 15 years. In terms of dealing with other people's dogs, I also worked as a dog walker/doggie day care attendant for over 3 years where I watched up to 20 dogs at a time. I have a lot of experience with troubled dogs (as long as I know ahead of time the issues they have to work with them) as well. For example I was living with my roommate’s rescue pit who was a handful to train and could sometimes be aggressive, but with love and care I feel comfortable handling dogs with all types of backgrounds. Also I just love hanging out with dogs!

I have no breed preferences as I've worked with pugs to pits to labs to great danes. Only thing I'd like to know is how comfortable they are with strangers. Do they nip? What's the best way to approach them when you're new to them? Do they only need a hand sniff or a treat to gain trust? Are they good with other dogs? Are they good on walks when people pass by? More just for safety these are the issues I need to know ahead of time.
A typical day
I love playing fetch at the dog park and watching a pup run around playing with other dogs. I normally give anywhere from a 10-20 minute walk depending on the dog's needs. If they don't have booties in the winter I make sure to avoid salt on the street as much as possible. When at the house I love playing a game of tug-of-war with a rope if the dog is into that. And a cuddle on the couch when they're all tuckered out is always good.
