Pet care experience
I have a lifelong love of animals and have always had pets of my own. I've worked as a volunteer in animal shelters since I was 14 years old and have cared for animals of all shapes and sizes for many decades. I have been a dog walker and pet sitter for many years and because I am a cookbook author who works from home, my hours are very flexible and I'm also able to be with your pet nearly 24/7 if I am caring for them in my home. I lived in New York for many years while I was working as a chef and a writer and I boarded and walked dogs for a number of clients. Three years ago I relocated to Ireland to write a cookbook and two years ago I moved home to Minneapolis after many years of being away. It's good to be home! For the past few years I have been writing two cookbooks that required extensive travel and I took a break from caring for dogs. Happily, both books are completed now and I'm looking forward to walking and boarding dogs again. I am attentive, caring and have experience administering medication. I will send daily updates and photos. I have dealt with virtually every dog personality from the shyest, smallest breeds to boisterous, large dogs with a lot of charisma. I'm easy to get in touch with and will invest the time to keep your pet healthy, happy and thriving. Because my schedule is really flexible, I'm able to work around the times that are best for you and your pet and can spend a lot of quality time with them. I look forward to hearing from you. Jody comes highly recommended! She walked our family's large mixed breed dog for several years when she lived in New York and we always knew he was in good hands. She was very communicative, always sent us a photo and checkin to let us know all was well and we really came to rely upon her. She also boarded our dog when we traveled and it was reassuring to know we had someone to rely on and who we could depend on who took such good care of our dog.
My family can't recommend Jody enough. She was not only a wonderful sitter for our two collies, she always went above and beyond in the time she spent with them, the attention she gave them and the extra love and care she offered. We never worried when our dogs were in her care or when she was walking them because we knew she loved them almost as much as we do. We were sorry to see her relocate from New York but are happy to hear that she's caring for animals again because she's a real asset to anyone looking for pet care. Thanks Jody!
Jody is very reliable, responsive and caring. She has overnighted with our two dogs and also walks them regularly. We love the photos and updates she sends and it always seems she goes above and beyond what other sitters and walkers we've had in the past have done. We really appreciate the care and love she shows to our dogs as well as to our parrot. When she started walking our dogs she asked if she should also feed and water him without any prompting from us and that's the kind of thing we really like about Jody. She puts our minds at ease about who is caring for our pets. Would highly recommend.
I would highly recommend Jody's services. She took care of our two dogs for over two years. She walked them throughout the week and when we were out of town, they stayed with her. She also fed our cat (and our fish too!) whenever we were traveling and also on the walk days too. She's a fantastic sitter/walker and really loves animals. We knew ours were always in good, conscientious hands when they were with her.
