Privately Insured and CPR Certified

Pet care experience

After making the decision to leave my job, I wasted no time redirecting my work ethic and attention to detail to watching your fur babies! I have been a pet care provider since my teens and I never expected my off and on “hobby” to become a full-time venture. In June 2020, all of this changed and I am now proud to announce that I have the best job in the world. My business has grown over the past year and I’ve provided pet care services to over 80 families, almost all of which are now repeat clients! Availability can be limited at times due to house sitting obligations and/or high demand but I am always accepting new clients in Beaver and Lawrence counties in PA and Mahoning and Columbiana counties in OH! I am privately insured by Pet Care Insurance and am also certified to perform Dog and Cat First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross. I keep a small medical kit on me at all times. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and I’ve worked with many different breeds of dogs, cats, horses, livestock, and even birds and exotic animals. I’ve also been lucky enough to have a veterinary technician take time to teach me how to administer insulin and I’ve completed several stays since then that have required me to care for diabetic dogs and cats. I also spent over eight years in two 4-H clubs and I have owned small and large breed dogs, cats, horses, fish, and pygmy and nubian goats. As of April 13, 2021 my additional dog rate has increased to $10 per additional dog. I strongly encourage new clients to fully check over my pricing, including my additional rates, to make sure they are aware of how much they will be paying. My prices are very competitive and are non-negotiable. I am already offering a discounted rate for additional pets and I cannot offer additional discounts as this action would significantly impact my business. As of April 13th, 2021, I implemented additional charges to compensate for extended care given past 12 PM on the last day of your service. House sitting bookings made through Rover do not include the last day of service and these additional charges ensure that I am receiving fair compensation for extra time spent with your fur babies. If you are unsure of when you'll be returning or of how long I will be required to stay, I can always modify your stay on the last day to increase the total price of your booking. Extra charges for house sittings apply to care given past 12 PM on the last day and are as follows (+$2 per additional pet applies to each of the listed prices until 8 PM): 1 PM: $15 2 PM: $20 3 PM: $25 4 PM: $30 5 PM: $35 6 PM: $40 7 PM: $45 8 PM: $50 (+$10 per additional dog, +$2 per additional cat) I struggled with finding purpose in my life for several years and I am very happy that, after living and working in several states, I eventually found my way back home so that I could give back to my own community! Check out my glowing reviews and book your stay today!

Jocelyn is amazing. After we had our meet and greet I needed her last minute and she fit my dogs in for a walk. She is very thorough and goes over everything with you. I feel confident my dogs are in good hands with her.

She was able to accommodate us on short notice. Jocelyn was reliable, responsible and friendly with our dog. We would book her again.

Safety, trust & environment

I only provide care for pets in the client’s home and I take special care to make sure your pets stay safe! I don’t leave pets outdoors unsupervised and I keep any and all food out of reach. If you have an invisible fence, I stay close to your pets and I will carry an air horn with me for protection. I also carry this air horn with me on walks since I was charged at thirteen times last year by off leash dogs. Water is also a priority for me and I carry a collapsible bowl and fresh water with me on all walks. Your fur baby’s safety is a priority and I will try to follow your pet’s routine so that their time away from you is as stress-free for them as possible!

Information Jocelyn O. would like to know about your pet

I have watched dogs of all sizes and do not have any breed preferences but would feel more comfortable if your dog or cat doesn't have a violent nature and is easy to get along with. A vast majority of the dogs I watch are large working breeds! I appreciate when my clients leave a detailed note containing information on their pet’s daily routine, vices, fears, medications, past or current health conditions, and allergies. If your veterinary and emergency contact information is not on your pet's Rover profile, then it needs to be available to me during your stay (leaving this information on your note is preferable). This note, along with our chat during the meet and greet, will ensure that I am fully prepared to safely watch your best friend. Please note: Meet and greets are REQUIRED. I was nearly bitten in the face by a very large dog and, for my own safety, I have had to enforce stricter policies. If your stay is last minute (emergencies do happen) and I have availability, I would be fine meeting with you and your pet(s) shortly before your service begins as long as everything is booked and paid for before the service begins. Due to high demand, my availability for last minute services is extremely limited. I keep my calendar updated daily and I strongly encourage pet parents to check it prior to sending their booking request.

A typical day

I am reliable, thoroughly enjoy staying with your pets, and do not take the responsibility you entrust me with for granted. During walks, you can expect me to walk your dog for the entire time you pay for, walk them along a safe route they are used to, and update you regularly with photos and direct communication. Walks do not cost extra during house sittings or drop-in visits and, if you have an active breed, I am fully prepared to wake up early to make sure your dog is walked before I leave your home. In the past, I have walked pups as much as 5 miles a day, in addition to playing mentally stimulating games with them, to prevent boredom and destructive behavior. During drop-in visits, you can expect me to stay with your dog for the entire time you pay for, play with each of your pets, and feed them and/or provide medication if required. For overnights of any duration, you can expect me to stay with your pets for most of the day. The only reason I leave a client’s home during a stay is to take care of my own animals, provide brief pet-sitting services and meet and greets if scheduled, or run essential errands like purchasing food. Please note that I can no longer provide constant care due to high demand and a high volume of bookings. I also raise registered pygmy goats and have horses as well that need care and house sitting availability may be limited during the spring depending on whether or not I’m picking up a new kid or expecting kids to be born. If your pet requires round the clock care or cannot be trusted to be left alone for at least 6-8 hours, I will not be a good fit for you and I suggest seeking out a sitter that can better accommodate your pet's needs. I restrict drop-in and dog walking services, depending on location, number of pets, separation anxiety, puppy or senior dog care, excessive crating, etc. as much as I can and house sitting clients do have priority over shorter services. However, I do have a full weekly schedule and maintain a route of services M-F that, at full capacity, can extend from 11 AM - 3 PM, or even longer, depending on the volume of bookings. If you are interested in booking a service in this time range, I encourage you to reach out to me but please understand that availability may be limited since most of my M-F clients work full time. I try to discourage pet parents from booking recurring services due to limited availability and the complications that may arise with booking when something comes up (last minute cancellations, extra time, extra days, etc.). Booking one time services is much easier and I promise you that it'll save us both a major headache!

I do pet care full time. I have a lot of clients, many of whom work, and I am unable to accommodate clients needing constant care. I have a weekly route of services M-F and services on weekends but most of my regular business is during the week. My busiest times of operation are 11 AM - 3 PM but I usually have room in my route for more clients as long as I have plenty of notice. Since most of my clients work, I do best with house sitting pups that can be left alone for 6-8 hours.
