Flexible pet walking, sitting and cuddling

Pet care experience

I’m looking forward to meeting your amazing dogs! I’m a dentist in Leeds on a year out, doing things that spark joy. For me, that’s spending as much time with dogs as possible. I’ve grown up around dogs (mainly labradors) and had a labradoodle myself until last year. We are getting a Lagotto Romagnolo puppy in June, we are so excited to meet her! We are hoping she likes to have a ‘job’, be it obedience, agility or working trials. I love a long walk or short bursts of high energy running; I believe strongly in allowing dogs to have a ‘sniff and mooch’ on their walks to provide them with mental stimulation. I have good knowledge of animal care, oral health (I’m happy brushing their teeth!) and have a close group of vet friends in case of emergencies too. I enjoy training dogs and have worked with trainers from the police and prison services. If you let me know where you’re at, I’d be delighted to continue some training when they’re with me. I use positive reinforcement training only - I am familiar with Puppy Culture, Pippa Mattinson and Zak George - I have combined their methods when training my own dogs. I am happy to help with whelping and relief care of puppies if you need a break!! It’s just me and my partner, Wendy, an A&E Doctor, at home; we work a mixture of shifts so there is always someone at home when your pets are with us. We both have clear Enhanced DBS’ too, we have a large 4x4car with boot liner and a large crate. I am happy dealing with all diets; raw, fresh, kibble and wet.

I would recommend Jo to anyone looking for help with their dog. She is calm and kind with animals, and has clearly put a lot of research into how to care for and work with dogs. She is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to training and is great with all ages - even tiny pups!
