I follow the pet owner’s instructions at their home—they know their pet best and I will do whatever is needed to make sure the animal is comfortable and feels safe. All dogs and cats have different temperaments and different ways they react to new people so I can take it slow or walk right up, it just depends what the owner wants.

Pet care experience
I volunteered at the Burbank Animal Shelter for six years where I worked with socializing feral and scared cats to get them ready for adoption. I also was part of their barn cat program finding homes for barn cats. I’ve adopted four animals from the Burbank shelter, three cats and one dog. I adopted my senior dog and she lived to be 17 years old! She was the love of my life. I have cared for friends’ cats and dogs when they are out of town. I’ve also fostered cats and dogs both senior and non-senior. I’ve been raised with cats and dogs my whole life and I love every single one dearly. If there’s a dog at a party, you best believe I’m hanging out with it instead of the people.

Joanna is well known as an animal lover. She has a kindness and gentle approach with all animals and can earn the trust of even the shyest souls. I have personally trusted Joanna to dog sit my dog Pepper. My mind is at ease knowing that Pepper will be well loved and cared for while I’m gone, taken on adventures and given nightly treats. Joanna loves to send me pictures and videos of Pepper and I love seeing her having such a nice time while I’m away. Also, I foster kittens throughout the year, and Joanna is the first person I call to come over and meet them. She is so gentle and can spend hours playing with them. She has really helped a lot of my foster kittens get properly socialized with people and become cuddle bugs for their future adopters. Whatever animal you need help with, Joanna can undoubtedly give the best care and have recommended her to my friends and family when they need someone reliable to care for their pet.
Joanna is the best! She has years of experience working with dogs, including volunteer experience at an animal shelter. She has had several pets of her own, both cats and dogs, and has experience with pets with medical needs and different temperaments. She has walked our high energy dog Kody in the past, and it's always been a great experience.
