Pet care experience
I love virtually all animals, but my love for dogs is above all else... Those eyes & ears get me every time ;) I've been walking & boarding dogs for 2yrs now and I also volunteer as a dog foster with Best Friends Pet Adoption. I only foster one child/dog-friendly dog at a time, so I can board 1-2 child/dog-friendly dogs depending on the size of dog. I've taken basic training courses and am now taking another course in April, so I can learn more techniques for different issues... When fostering a variety of dogs with many different personalities and issues, you tend to run into some interesting doggie behaviors and I'd like to be able to help them. I've been involved with dog rescue for nearly 4yrs now and it's surly a big part of mine and my son's lives. I have 10yo twin boys who share my love and respect for animals and love having new fur-friends to play with. We would certainly give your doggie lots of love, nice walks, playtime for sure and a comfy place to feel at home <3

Joanna watched my dog Gus on short notice during Thanksgiving. I am very happy that she did. Gus is a rescue and this was my first time away from him. As a rescue, Gus still has some separation anxiety and I was nervous to leave him fearing it would get worse. Joanna was fantastic with Gus and quickly alleviated that fear. She sent me texts and pictures throughout his stay and it was abundantly clear that he was very comfortable with Joanna and that she cared for him like her own.
Joanna did a great job watching my dog. She took her for a lot of walks and play time at dog parks and kept great communication while we were out with text messages and photos. I will definitely be using her again.

Please note: My main concerns are for my children and my foster-dog's safety, so I will only board child/dog-friendly dogs in my home. If crating is necessary, the crate must be provided, along with your dog's food, treats and any special instructions. I will only take puppies that are approximately 6months and older, who are past their destructive stage and are house trained for the most part
A typical day
If we're boarding, we will take your dog on walks around our apartment complex where they'll be sure to run into other dogs to say hello to, or to avoid ;) There's a dog enclosure for them to run and play, as well as a trail that leads to Bass Lake. If your dog enjoys car rides, they can certainly come along for the rides we take to dog-friendly places and if you & your fur-baby would like, we can always add a trip to the Fuquay-Varina dog park for some extra fun :)
