Joanie's Dog Sitting
Pet care experience
I love dogs. But currently, being a single, working woman, I can't give a pet the TLC he/she needs. However, I would really like to have dogs in my life. Pet sitting seems to be a viable answer to my need. Earlier in July (2016) I had my first dogvacay assignment caring for an older Pug while his owner left for some r&r at the lake for a long weekend. The Pug, named Paco, was a breeze to take care of and proved a lovable, adaptable companion. I believe Paco's owner was pleased with the boarding experience also. Also, not long ago, I cared for my niece's Belgian Malinois in my home, during the two weeks she was on a road trip. I fed him, took him on walks, took him to the park where he fetched tennis balls until he was exhausted, and played with him at home. It was a great experience for both of us. More regularly, I dote on my sister's Pomeranian every time I visit. I take him on short walks - he tires easily - play with him and mostly pet and cuddle him. My sister says he loves me more than her. My sister has two cats, too: an older cat and a spunky tuxedo. I feed and dote on them also. While my experience as a pet sitter is limited, I like and get along with most dogs and cats and would treat your pet(s) as my own. Also, for 15 years I took care of two cockatiels, so I am open to caring for caged birds. (Restrictions: my condo allows pets up to 35 pounds; also, I require a house-trained dog.)
