I've raised and cared for cats, dogs, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, and rabbits. I especially love playing with large dogs! I'm known for learning each animal's body language and signals so that I can best understand what they want from the humans around them. I'm happy to rest on the couch and snuggle, take your pup on a great adventure around the nearest park, or hold loving but firm boundaries with younger critters who are still in training. I'm very comfortable giving medicine or learning your animal's particular routines.

Joan put our minds at ease with time-dated updates and lots of pictures! I was concerned about our indoor cat of 15 1/2 years. He prefers drinking from a bathroom sink! Joan and I practiced with him when she came to meet the cats and my finch and it went well. I saw through lots of pictures that he drank every day from the sink! The outdoor cats were fed twice a day and I received pictures of them too. They are ferals - but somewhat domesticated these days and so need attention from a care giver. Joan did that very well and sent pictures of these cats alsol. I recommend Joan very, very highly and will definitely contact her the next time we need care for our menagerie! Thank you, Joan!

I have thorough experience dog and cat sitting in people's homes for extended periods. It's very easy for me to treat your home with the utmost respect and leave everything exactly as I found it, clean, and tidy. My sweet, incredibly well-behaved 11-year-old dog Frances comes everywhere with me, and so would need an introduction to your pets before any overnights to make sure everyone can get along. I'm happy to water plants or do other minor house tending as desired, and of course will send as many photo/video updates as you like so you know your babies are safe and happy.

I work from home through the week, and have a booth at a farmers market on the weekend. Because of that, Saturday mornings are my only completely unavailable time, otherwise I'm often flexible.
