Greetings and thanks for considering us to take care of your canine companion(s). We are passionate about dogs (ours and yours!) and would welcome the pleasure of your small to medium size (up to 40 lbs) dog's company for short or long stays, day care or overnight. We have many years of successful and immensely gratifying dog-care experience with stellar reviews from our wonderful clients. Our home was fully inspected and we were carefully interviewed some years ago and have absolutely loved our dog hosting ever since, getting to know wonderful dogs with the added bonus of meeting some terrific people! Rates: Small dogs: $50 each 24-hour day/night, $35/day Regrettably, we can no longer care for large dogs (over 40lbs) or those who require significant exercise. We are retired research librarians from the University of California at Irvine; both now home full-time, so will give your dog lots of time, attention and affection. We are comfortable with all types of friendly dogs; breed or age. We've even enjoyed hosting puppies from a 10 week old Havanese to a medium size Cavapoo. We have a completely enclosed back garden with tall fences and locked gates; Patio, gravel, and walk-on bark surfaces. We had beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels for many, many years but we lost the last one to (very common) heart disease in September 2019. Now our wonderful canine companion is Harpo, a Poodle mix whom we rescued at Thanksgiving 2019 and is the light of our lives. He is the concierge here @ Hotel Harpo and is very sweet tempered and gets along well with our canine guests. We are comfortable administering medication as you direct but do not have experience (yet?) with injections although happy to learn. We strongly prefer to meet dogs and their people in advance to assure human and canine comfort all around, but will sometimes consider dispensing with pre-visit if unusual circumstances necessitate.
