#IWouldRatherBeWithMyDog. Or yours!

Pet care experience

****If you are contacting me for the first time, please reach out to me with you & your pet's info and request a meet & greet before requesting a booking; this will make your first stay much less stressful for your pup(s). Up to date vet info will be needed before a first booking will be confirmed and will be kept on file for ease in confirming future bookings. Please be aware that I will not host unaltered pets unless they were adopted and their vet recommends against spay/neuter due to health risks for age or other reasons. Let me know if you have any other questions or I can help with info! TYIA!**** The past ten years I have been able to focus my efforts on dogs in need, volunteering with the San Antonio Humane Society and Texas GSP (German Shorthaired Pointer) Rescue; see more below. Adopting dogs of my own, and multiple dogs, I have found it increasingly difficult to find reliable and affordable care for my dogs should they not be able to accompany me on my out of town excursions. This led me to Rover.com, and now I am looking to help others with their dog care needs! And cats, too! 🌈Wylie crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past Dec 14 and I am truly looking forward to spending time with as many fur-kids as possible. Wylie was such an amazing example of #AdoptDontShop and such a gentle kind soul that I am going to leave his bio here as is for now because I’m just not ready to take it down. 🌈 I currently have one dog, Wylie Coyote, that was rescued from the San Antonio Humane Society. My best guess for Wylie Coyote is that he could be a Heeler/CattleDog/small Shepherd type of wonderfulness, otherwise known as a San Antonio Special. He is neutered, up to date on every type of monthly and annual needed, and is spoiled beyond belief as any heart-hound should be. My work with Texas GSP (German Shorthaired Pointer) Rescue has been in fostering and volunteering; in fostering I work on assimilating dogs from shelter to home life or assessing their level of familiarity with home "manners", as well a teaching basic training and commands (sit, stay, down, come, walking on leash) and evaluating their activity levels and other personality traits (cat/small animal sensitive, better with older children/adults, fence jumper, etc..). In volunteering I meet with and interview potential adopters as well perform home visit evaluations, and follow up with families post-adoption. I have taken four of my own rescue dogs through Basic Obedience Training with the San Antonio Dog Training Club and achieved a Canine Good Citizenship Certification with one - Wylie Coyote. I have also volunteered with the San Antonio Humane Society in their foster program, shelter intake, and fundraising. While with me, your dog will be treated as one of my own in every way possible while still respecting and encouraging their personal needs. I am home full time and live next to Brackenridge Park so walkies around the quiet neighborhood or in the Park are one or more times a day, and breaks to walk outside are every fifteen minutes or as needed. *As mentioned above, Wylie crossed the Rainbow Bridge this past Dec and the house needs more fur-feet around - we have since started semi-hosting a neighborhood cat from time to time for dinner, and have added another minnow to the fishbowl.* I currently have one fur-baby, Wylie Coyote, that has been a “big” foster brother to two dozen fosters and has hosted numerous dogs through boarding. Wylie is an older gentleman who enjoys socializing and good, long walks and helps me in hosting all visitors in making sure they are comfortable and cared for.

Jo took great care of my dog for daycare! Highly recommend using her if you need daycare or boarding in the San Antonio area. She’s very intentional about getting to know your pup and their needs to ensure they’re comfortable and well looked after. Will definitely be using her again when in the San Antonio area for work or vacation!

Wrigley had the best time with Jo. In all of the pictures she sent you could tell she was having a great weekend!

Our dog (Harley) had such a fun time staying with Jo! She got lots of attention, had some super friendly playmates to keep her busy, and a big fenced in yard so she could run all her energy out. Jo took Miss Harley for long walks and sent lots of pictures and updates on how she was doing. I think Harley might have been a little sad to come home after having so much fun all week :) Jo is amazing with dogs and a lovely person. I was so happy to have someone take such great care of our furchild while we were gone.

Excellent communication and care. Our pups are not boarded often. Most if the time boarding messes with their schedule- not with Jo. She's definitely a dog whisperer! I think a hallmark of a person to the care of others animals is that the pets don't even know the owner is gone. Our puos hardly missed us! That means to me they were happy and relaxed! Jo provides lots of play, walas and love!
