Pet care experience
I have been a Rover sitter for nine years as of winter 2023, but I have been working with animals in a professional since I was fifteen I was a foster parent for the Nebraska Humane Society from 2013 until moving here to Chicago in June 2018. I also currently foster with the Anti-Cruelty Society and PAWS here in Chicago when I have breaks between bookings. I have experience administrating medication (liquid and pill), as well as subcutaneous fluids; in fact, I have done so daily with my own cats in the past. My goal is for you to come home and to only have to worry about spending time with your pets; owners should never worry about messes made or if they need to scoop the litter box before going to bed. That first day back from a trip can be draining enough before coming to a potential chore. I also do not open doors or closets that I am not told I am allowed to access, privacy is a #1 for me. So in a meet & greet we will discuss in length on where litter, leashes, cleaning supplies, etc. are so that I can properly find everything without feeling I'm crossing a certain barrier. I am also LGBTQIA+ friendly and stand behind BLM. Fully vaccinated as of December 2021!

I would like to know your animal's routine if there is one. What time they are fed each day, how many walks they need, etc. I have no breed restrictions and will enjoy any pets given in my care. The best part of pet care inside the pet's home is relieving the stress of a kennel environment, pets are best in their homes with their normal routines and it's enough of a change that it's me instead of their humans, so let's try to keep it as consistent as possible outside of that.
A typical day
That depends on your pet's needs, I will never push your pet's boundaries and have a hands-off approach where they come to me. Every animal is different so I have been known to watch docuseries with pups, I've also taken them to dog parks when there's one within walking distance and the dog had a great recall.

Availability
I currently work a 9-5, my job is hybrid but on my remote days I do still prefer to work at home since that’s where my monitors are and I get to check in on my own cat that way. Since I do have my own cat, as well as a 9-5, I do not offer 24/7 care at this time, I would need to be able to leave for extended periods of time. I understand that especially after the pandemic this simply can’t work for everyone, but please keep this in mind before booking. I also have a work study every Saturday in South Loop from 1-5:30, if a request is made more than two (2) months in advance I can attempt to move it, but any sooner nothing is guaranteed.
