Pet care experience
Hello, I'm Jim! I have been house-sitting nearly full-time for over four years! I have been so fortunate to be able to travel in this way to so many unique and interesting places and to have met some great people along the way. In that time I've been from New Hampshire to Austin to Puerto Rico to Mexico and have cared for a whole range of animals not limited to pups and kittens and all types of homes from rustic lake cabin to full scale farm in Texas! I've got you covered!
Reviews
Jim took such great care of Oliver. They bonded nicely, and I definitely will hire Jim again when the need arises.
James is the best sitter for our Westie girl, Abigail. Abby is our 15 year old pup and is totally deaf. James has an understanding of an aging dog’s needs, and quickly gained her trust. Thanks James, for taking such wonderful care of Abby and our home!
Our dog instantly loved Jim. He sent some nice pics during his stay and definitely took care of her and the house. Will definitely book again as needed.
Jim was a phenomenal sitter for our 2 dogs & 1 cat and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again. It was our first time using Rover and our first time leaving our pets for an extended period of time, but Jim's diligence in getting to know our pets and their routine quickly put us at ease. He stayed at our home with our two golden retrievers and our tabby cat for two weeks while we went to Europe. This is the first time I have been on a vacation with no worries about our pets. Jim kept the routine they knew & liked and in fact, I think they probably had more fun with Jim than they do with us most days :-) He brought them for long walks and hikes and adventures. They were calm and relaxed when we returned and it was as if we never left. Our house and yard was well cared for also. Thank you Jim!

What's great about house/pet sitting is your pets' schedule can stay the same even when you are out of town. I adapt quickly and easily so things at home continue to flow the way they normally do. My job allows me to work in whatever location I am living and I typically wont be away from the house for more than a few hours at a time and I am always happy to have a navigator with me in the car if they enjoy going for rides.
Information Jim G. would like to know about your pet
It's important to have an idea of personality and a breakdown of their routine. For example I recently took a gig watching a "shelter dog" who was afraid of men. She liked going outside and was used to 2-4 mile walks daily. She only ate once per day and had no meds. Kitty ate twice per day and and was indoors at all times. All of this info is important so that I know what I am getting into (or to decline) so I can plan my schedule according to yours. It only took about a day and a half for doggy to warm up to me and by the time I was getting ready to leave she was literally trying to curl up with me in the beanbag chair next to the wood stove. A complete transformation from day one I must say.
A typical day
I love to get outside. I am happiest in the woods exploring new trails, wandering in parks or perusing city blocks and am grateful for the exercise and the company. When at home I am reading, cooking, and/or making some kind of art and usually pets are lounging.

These days I'm basing my operation in Massachusetts. I spend my time at home sketching ideas for paintings to be done in my slow season. I am completely in control of my schedule so I am easily able to work around yours and those of your pets.
