Pet care experience
There are precious few things in life as reliably fulfilling as simply being with a dog. They ground us, they give us joy and companionship, and they teach us unconditional love. Every dog provides his or her own unique master class in perception, communication, friendship, and appreciation for the physical world. My approach with any dog I meet is to recognize that he or she is a unique individual with specific physical and emotional needs based on breed, age, gender, health, and life experience. All of our interactions are designed to maximize his or her health and happiness within the bounds of safety and good behavior. For in-home sitting at your place, I'll follow all your instructions and house rules to the letter so there'll be no surprises when you get home - just a happy dog who's glad to see you!

Jim is the best! Our dog had a great experience — lots of exercise, lots of attention, and lots of loving. Jim was concerned about a hot spot that our dog was licking so he had her checked out at the vet, all by his own initiative. Our dog was fine but his vigilance was greatly appreciated. The setting is amazing, and he is a natural dog lover. Was our first Rover experience and could not have been happier.
Jim was great! Perfect location and he took care of my pup very well. She was very happy when I picked her up and I will gladly book with Jim again.

I generally prefer well-socialized large breed dogs at my home, especially German Shepherds, Huskies, Labrador and Golden Retrievers, Aussies, etc. I get along fine with all dogs, so any breed is fine at your place. I do like to know about any special needs, especially any previous traumas, phobias, etc. I'm very good with rescues, and just ask that you tell me as much as you can about their history so I know how to tailor my approach with them.
A typical day
Available activities include leashed on-road walks and off-road walks (back yard and/or woods, either leashed or unleashed, as you prefer); retrieval games (balls, sticks, frisbees); trips to the store (if you and/or your dog like that!);
