I love dogs and cats more than humans. I love cuddly, social pets but I also regularly sat a dog who didn't like to be touched and I respected his needs! I've done plenty of dog walking, and I have experience staying in other people's homes overnight for both pet sitting and babysitting, and it's never been a problem for me. I'm not afraid to be silly. I let my aunt's dog lick vanilla frosting off my tongue at a kid's birthday party once. I'm also totally happy with a more laid-back dog who just wants to cuddle with me on your couch. I will give your furry creature the same respect and love I would give a human child.
