Certified in Pet First Aid & CPR!

Pet care experience

PLEASE read my schedule portion below before requesting me as I have a number of people who do not realize I have a full time job! I don’t want to waste your time. Hello, my name is Jillian! I’m a college graduate with a bachelors degree in psychology. I’ve been around dogs and cats my entire life, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I’m truly passionate about caring for animals, and I would love to care for yours! My goal is to create a safe, friendly and comfortable environment for your pets. I understand that it takes some pets longer than others to warm up to someone new. I personally have a dog that can be anxious around new faces, and even some familiar faces. I’ve purchased books, done extensive online research and even joined Facebook groups I never knew existed to expand my knowledge. In my research I’ve learned about a dogs body language, and the subtle signs that are often overlooked when a dog is displaying discomfort. I’m no expert, but I’m sure to never push past their comfort zone. In 2018, I wanted to further my knowledge as a pet owner. My sister and I signed up for the FETCH Pet First Aid & CPR class that was held at a local doggy daycare. I plan to keep up with that certification to keep my dogs and clients pets safe. It also gives me peace of mind. When I have the opportunity, one of my favorite places to visit is Service Dog Project in Ipswich, MA. This is a wonderful ‘farm’ type atmosphere that breeds and raises Great Danes to be mobility service dogs. On Sundays they have set visiting hours. This allotted time allows the puppies and dogs to be socialized, which is so importsnt! It’s much fun to watch the puppies play and learn from each other, and sometimes I even learn a thing or two. I have no preference in age, breed or temperament. In the past three years I have had personal puppy experience with three different breeds. February of 2017 my family picked up our male cocker spaniel at 8 weeks old, July of 2017 my sister and her husband picked up their male golden retriever at 8 weeks old and February of 2018 my boyfriend picked up his male German Shepherd at 12 weeks old. I like to think I’ve had a huge part in raising all three and I’m still actively caring for them (of course!). Puppies are a lot of work and a huge commitment, but also so much fun. While puppies are fun and adorable, I love myself a senior dog. Sometimes they are so overlooked. My 13 year old cocker spaniel truly has such a special place in my heart.

Jill was great with our cats, visiting them twice a day while we were out of town for 3 days for our wedding. We loved the photos and updates! We definitely recommend Jill as a pet sitter!

Information Jillian C. would like to know about your pet

I have no age, breed or size preferences. I’ve grown up with cocker spaniels, but have always been drawn to L/XL breeds. Things I’d like to know about your dog: - How often do they need to be let out? - How long can they be left alone? - Any separation anxiety? - Are they crate trained? - If not, where do they sleep? - Are they allowed on furniture? - Any food allergies I should be aware of? - Friendly with strangers? Other dogs? - Any possessive behavior? (Resource guarding) - What are their regular feeding times? - Do they like to go on walks/play or would they rather hang out and sleep? These are just ideas of things I’d like to know, I don’t expect you to answer all or even any of these questions.

Tell me your favorite walking spots! I have a reliable SUV and would love to bond with your dog on their favorite trail or beach.

As of September 2022 I have started a new job. I do work full time and my hours are Mon - Fri 8am - 5pm. After I am trained I will have flexibility to do a couple of days WFH. This will be helpful for any long weekend stays. I realize this is not ideal for everyone, but I am very up front about what I can do. I am usually available on weekends, and happy to work with pet owners on what’s best for them during the weekdays.
