Rely on me for your pet care needs!

Pet care experience

I’ve had dogs all of my life and love them dearly. My lab made it to 17! Have cared for animals in my home, and also at their homes. Available during the week, and most weekends. I’ve been a health care provider as a Registered Dental Hygienist for 25 years. I had hand surgery 2.5 years ago, and still in long recovery, so I decided to do something I love and enjoy, in hopes to continue on this path. If you’re working, traveling, or just need a little break, I would love to help. I’ll love your dog (s) while you’re away, and if I did my duty properly, then they will be looking forward to their next stay!

Jill was very responsive, sent lots of updates and pictures and did a great job entertaining my high energy pup. She also ensured that my dog felt safe, secure and settled on her first night when she was having separation anxiety. Thank you, Jill!

Charlie had a great time with Jill and was well cared for with love and attention. It was great that Jill's home dog, Mazie, was easy going and was great company for Charlie and helped him get used to being in close company with other dogs as he doesn't have that opportunity at home. Jill kept us updated with lots of pictures and comments on his activity and it was apparent that he felt comfortable and loved during his stay. Thank you Jill for the love, care and attention you provided and we will keep you in mind when we need another caretaker for our little boy!

Safety, trust & environment

I have a nice spacious fenced in yard, that is perfect for our play time. Also have Ring cameras inside and out for surveillance, in the case I’m not with them at all times. Most of the time I’m home while boarding, especially if new to our home. My dog Maizy Mae, is a Beagle Mix, who I adopted through the AHS. She’s wonderful and gets along well with all other dogs, and loves her random “sleepovers”! My maximum is typically 2 dogs, (with some exceptions of booking dates overlapping). along with my dog, so I can provide the attention needed, while also keeping everyone safe this way. I will also make an exception in the case that there are more than 2 dogs in your family, (preferably smaller dogs). I will always provide a safe and comfortable environment.

Information Jill S. would like to know about your pet

Please be sure to let me know if your dog has any special needs, separation anxiety, can’t do stairs, dietary needs, meds/supplements, etc. If so, or If your dog needs a good bit of extra care, rate will be modified according to the level of their needs. I give dogs a good bit of my time during their stay, but if they need more than what I already naturally give, rate I’d pay to be modified, upon discussion. * If your dog has separation anxiety, I kindly request that I’m aware of this. Also, request that you pack “Calming Chews”, if possible. Not a requirement , but much appreciated, to make easier for all involved. Calming chews are all natural ingredients and are very helpful in taking the edge off. Also, please pack anything like blankets, beds, bowls, treats, bones, and a toy or 2, that they may be partial to. This always has helped my dogs, allowing them to have a nicer visit while away from home. I also have a toy/bone bin that guests are welcome to. If your dog likes to shred toys, just let me know, and I will put those away during their stay. I order bones, antlers, etc., but let me know if any type of aggressive behaviors, so I can put them away also, if needed. It’s always much appreciated if you can pack some as well, if they like to chew, or if chewing may help calm them. Bully sticks are great! Having something to give them to chew away their anxiety, is super helpful, especially ones that are long lasting.. ***I also buy/order healthy, grain-free treats and make homemade doggie cookies, when I’m able to! It’s helpful if owners can bring a bag, and I can alternate each of ours, so dogs get the same thing, and will equally share ours with your fur baby. I typically make ground beef or gravy to add to their food to make more exciting , and so they eat/don’t graze. Lmk if that’s okay, or if your dog needs to stick with a strict diet. I typically keep them on their regular diet otherwise, as drastic changes can upset their bellies, so please come prepared with enough food for the duration of their stay. Helpful to pack with the possibility of an extension of their stay, as plans often change. Any unused food will be sent back with you. If they are arriving when it’s close to time for a meal, please hold off on feeding them, so I can do so when they arrive. Often dogs are uneasy for the first day, so letting me feed them makes us instant buddies! I request that dogs be clean (and brushed), when brought over to stay. This helps immensely for many reasons. I do let some dogs sleep with me, so that will only happen as long as they are clean, if Maizy is okay with it..and if they aren’t bed hogs! Typically, I do my standard rate the first visit, and if they are easy, well behaved, and adapt well, I am happy to consider lowering the rate for future visits, given they are very low maintenance. Also, if your dog has stayed with me before my rates increased, I will also consider a lower rate for them as well, if they were easy. I am happy to administer any medications if needed. Please put medicine directions, food allergies, feeding time/amounts, frequency, bedtime and typical wake time, and anything that calms your dog on care instructions sheet or under “details “ on Rover for your pet, so I can easily refer to them. This will also be helpful if they come for future visits, and info will always be there to refer to. I’m also happy to file care instructions here, to keep on hand for future stays. At the meet and greet, I request that records on dog(s) boarding be brought with you for review. I offer a complimentary 30 minute (max) meet and greet, so that we can confirm that our dogs mesh well, and so you are comfortable knowing their environment, and how well they will be cared for here. I do encourage this, since it also makes your baby more comfortable when they come back to stay. I do have to keep at 30 minutes or less, due to the high volume of meet and greets I do, drop offs, pickups, boardings, house calls, and dog walks! While here for meet and greet, we will cover the final details about their stay, so that on your drop off date, you can do just that, and be on your way! I typically have people text me to confirm when headed my way to confirm time and running on schedule, since I have a tight schedule. Upon arrival, you can drop everything off on the front porch, and then bring your dog(s) down to meet us in the yard, so we can get initial excitement out of the way, outside. I’m happy to help with unloading/loading if help is needed. Lots of details here, but thanks so much for taking the time to read it all. Feel free to reach out with any questions, and would love for you to rely on me for your pet care needs!

A typical day

I love to throw toys for everyone to fetch, and walk around the yard. As if we’re on a walk, as there is plenty of room to run. Also, sometimes will take dogs for walks, but not always. If your dog requires need for daily walks, please let me know ahead of time, or at meet and greet. Fees will be adjusted accordingly, if it’s a necessity.
